"O my Lord! I have indeed wronged my soul! Do Thou then forgive me!"
(The Narrations) In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Ta Sin Mim.

ِ ُِ ْب ا ِ َِْت ا ُ َ َ ِْ
These are Verses of the Book that makes (things) clear.
٣ 3.
ن َ َُِْ ٍم ُ!ْﻡ$ِ & % َ'ِْن ﺏ َ َْ)ْ*ِ+ َو-َ ﻡُﺱ/ِ َ01 ِ ﻡ َ ْ ََ) َُْا1
We rehearse to thee some of the story of Moses and Pharaoh in Truth, for people who believe.
ً7َ ِ? َ3َْ َأه6َ َ7َ8ض َو ِ ِْ< اْ;َر+ ََ) ن َ َْ)ْ*ِ+ ن 0 ِإ 4.
Truly Pharaoh elated himself in the land and broke up its people into sections,
َُِْءه1 <ِ ْ'ََْ َأﺏَْءهُْ َوA ُ %ﺏBَ ُ ُْ3ْ% ﻡCً َDِEَ F ُ ِ7ْGََْ depressing a small group among them: their sons he slew but he kept alive their females:

َ ِHِْDُ ْ ا َ ِن ﻡ َ َ آJُ 01ِإ
for he was indeed a maker of mischief.
ض ِ ِْ< اْ;َر+ ُاDِ7ْGُْ اﺱ َ ِB0 ا-ََ) 0 ُ 01 أَنHُ ِ*ُ1َو 5.
And We wished to be gracious to those who were being depressed in the land,
٥
َ ِMُ ُ اَْا ِر3ََ7ْLَ1 َوCً 0 ِEُْ َأ3ََ7ْLَ1َو
to make them leaders (in faith) and make them heirs,
ض ِ ِْ< اْ;َر+ ُْ3َ َ %َ ُ1َو 6. To establish a firm place for them in the land,

ن َ ُروBَ ْ'َ ُا1َ آ0ُ ﻡ3ُُِْ َدهُ َ ﻡ8ن َو َ َن َوهَﻡ َ َْ)ْ*ِ+ ُ*ِي1َو
and to show Pharaoh, Haman, and their hosts, at their hands, the very things against which they were taking precautions.
Jِ ِ7ِ َأنْ َأرْﺽ-َم ﻡُﺱ% ُأ-ََوَأوْﺡَ َْ ِإ 7.
So We sent this inspiration to the mother of Moses: "Suckle (thy child),
<ِ1Tَ ْ'َ َِ< َو+َUَ َ َو% َ ِْ< ا+ Jِ ِ$َْ;َ+ Jِ ْ ََ) V ِ ْDِW ذَا/ِ َ+ but when thou hast fears about him, cast him into the river, but fear not nor grieve:

َ َِ اْ ُ*ْﺱ َ ِ ﻡYُ ُِ)َ8 َو ِ ْ َ ِإYُ وZ رَاد01ِإ
for We shall restore him to thee, and We shall make him one of Our Messengers."
ً1Tَ َو\ا َوﺡHُ َ) ُْ3َ ن َ َُ ِ ن َ َْ)ْ*ِ+ ُلJُ َ^َ$ََْ+ 8.
Then the people of Pharaoh picked him up (from the river): (it was intended) that (Moses) should be to them an adversary and a cause of sorrow:

َ ِ_َِW ُا1َُُ َدهُ َ آ8ن َو َ َن َوهَﻡ َ َْ)ْ*ِ+ ن 0 ِإ
for Pharaoh and Haman and (all) their hosts were men of sin.
َ َ< َو% ٍ ْ َ) ت ُ *0 ُa ن َ َْ)ْ*ِ+ ت ُ اﻡْ َ*َأV ِ ََaَو 9.
The wife of Pharaoh said: "(Here is) a joy of the eye, for me and for thee:
Yُ ُُْ$َ َ slay him not.
ًاHَ َوYُ Bَ ِU0َ1 ََْ َأو7َDَ أَن-ََ) It may be that he will be of use to us, or we may adopt him as a son."

ن َ ُ*ُو7ْbَ َ َُْوه
And they perceived not (what they were doing)!
ًdَ ِر+ -َم ﻡُﺱ% ُ!َا ُد ُأ+ A َ َْeَوَأ 10. But there came to be a void in the heart of the mother of Moses:
َ3َِْa -ََ) َْ^َرﺏ0 ََْ أَنJِ ِِي ﺏHَُْ ْإِن آَ َدت she was going almost to disclose his (case), had We not strengthened her heart (with faith),

َ ِِ اْ ُ!ْﻡ َ ِن ﻡ َ َُِ
so that she might remain a (firm) believer.

Jِ %gُa Jِ ِْWُ;ِ ْVََaَو 11. And she said to the sister of (Moses), "Follow him."
١١
ن َ ُ*ُو7ْbَ َ ُْ َوهh ٍ ُُ8 َ) Jِ ُِ َ*تْ ﺏgََ+
So she (the sister) watched him in the character of a stranger, and they knew not.
6ُ َْa ِ ﻡiَ ِ اْ َ*َاﺽJِ ْ ََ) َْ*ﻡ0 ََوﺡ 12. And We ordained that he refused suck at first,
َُْ Jُ َ1ُُDَْ V ٍ ْ َ ﺏ6ِ ْ َأه-ََ) ُْZْ أَ ُد6َْ هVََ$َ+ until (his sister came up and) said: "Shall I point out to you the people of a house that will nourish and bring him up for you

ن َ ُ'ِeَ1 Jُ َ َُْوه
and be sincerely attached to him?"...
ن َ Tَ ْ'َ ََ َو3ُْ َ) *0 َ$َ ْ<َ آJِ % ُأﻡ-َ ِإYُ َ1َْ َ* َدد+ 13. Thus did We restore him to his mother, that her eye might be comforted, that she might not grieve,

ن َ ُ َْ7َ َ َُْ َ*هjْ َأآ 0 َِ& َو k َ ﺡJِ 0َ اHْ)ن َو 0 َْ َ َأ7ََِو
and that she might know that the promise of Allah is true: but most of them do not understand.
ً ِْ) ﺡُْ ً َوYُ َْ َ وَاﺱََْىYُ H0 ُ?َ َأmََ ﺏ0 ََو 14. When he reached full age, and was firmly established (in life), We bestowed on him wisdom and knowledge:

َ ِِْ'ُ ِْي اTْLَ1 َ ِBَ ََوآ
for thus do We reward those who do good.
ن ِ ََِْ$َ ِ ْ َُ8َ َر3 ِ+ Hَ َ8َ َ+ َ3ِْ ْ َأه% ﻡCٍ َْDَd ِ ِ ﺡ-ََ) Cَ َِHَ ْ ا6َ َWَو َد 15. And he entered the City at a time when its people were not watching: and he found there two men fighting --
Yِ و% Hُ َ) ْ َِا ﻡBَ َوهJِ َِ7 ِ? َِا ﻡBَه one of his own religion, and the other, of his foes.
Yِ و% Hُ َ) ْ ِِي ﻡB0 ا-ََ) Jِ َِ7 ِ? ِِي ﻡB0 اJُ َMَnََْﺱ+ Now the man of his own religion appealed to him against his foe,
Jِ ْ ََ) -َGَ$َ+ -َ ﻡُﺱYُ Tَ ََ َآ+ and Moses struck him with his fist and made an end of him.

ن ِ َ^ْ 0b ا6ِ َ َ) ْ َِا ﻡBََ َل هa He said: "This is a work of Evil (Satan):

ٌ ِZ ﻡ6k ِGZو ﻡk Hُ َ) Jُ 01ِإ
for he is an enemy that manifestly misleads!"
<ِ ْ*ِDْdَ+ <ِْDَ1 V ُ ْ ََp <%1ب ِإ % َ َل َرa 16. He prayed: "O my Lord! I have indeed wronged my soul! Do Thou then forgive me!"
Jُ َ *َ َDَnَ+ So (Allah) forgave him:

ُ ِ*ﺡ0 ُ ُر اDَnْ هُ َ اJُ 01ِإ
for He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
١٧
َ ِْ ِ*ﻡLُ ْ% ِ *ًا3َp ن َ ََُ ْ َأآ+ < 0 ََ) V َ ْ َ7ْ1ب ﺏِ َ َأ % َ َل َرa
17. He said: "O my Lord! for that Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace on me, never shall I be a help to those who sin!"
h ُ 0a*َ ََ ًDِEَW Cِ َِHَ ِْ< ا+ A َ َْeَ;َ+ 18. So he saw the morning in the City, looking about, in a state of fear,
Jُ ُW*ِ ْgََْ q ِ ْ ﺏِْ;َﻡYُ *َ َgَِْي اﺱB0ذَا ا/ِ َ+ when behold, the man who had, the day before, sought his help called aloud for his help (again).
١٨
ٌ ِZي ﻡ k ِ َnَ َ 01 ِإ-َ ﻡُﺱJُ َ َ َلa
Moses said to him: "Thou art truly, it is clear, a quarrelsome fellow!"
َ َلa َ ُ30 وk Hُ َ) َ ُِي هB0ِ ﺏr َ ِ^َْ َأنْ َأرَا َد أَن0 ََ+ 19. Then, when he decided to lay hold of the man who was an enemy to both of them, that man said:
q ِ ًْْ ﺏِْ;َﻡDَ1 V َ ََْa َ ََُِْ< آ$َ أَنHُ ِ*ُ َأ-ََ ﻡُﺱ "O Moses! is it thy intention to slay me as thou slewest a man yesterday?
ض ِ ِْ< اْ;َر+ رًا0َ8 ن َ َُ أَن0 ِإHُ ِ*ُ إِن Thy intention is none other than to become a powerful violent man in the land,

َ ِ'ِْgُ ْ ا َ ِن ﻡ َ َُ أَنHُ ِ*ُ ََوﻡ
and not to be one who sets things right!"
َ َلa -َ7َْ Cِ َِHَ ْ ا-َgْa ْ َأ%ٌ ﻡ6ُ8َء َر8َو 20. And there came a man, running, from the furthest end of the City. He said:

ْْ ُ*جWَ+ ك َ ُُْ$َ ِ َ ِن ﺏ َ ن اْ ََ;َ َ;َْ ِ*ُو 0 ِإ-ََ ﻡُﺱ "O Moses! the Chiefs are taking counsel together about thee, to slay thee: so get thee away,
٢٠
َ ِ'ِe0 ا َ ِ ﻡ َ َ <%1ِإ
for I do give thee sincere advice."
h ُ 0a*َ ََ ًDِEَW َ3ِْج ﻡ َ *َ َUَ+ 21. He therefore got away therefrom, looking about, in a state of fear.
٢١
َ ِ ِ0uَْ ِم ا$ْ ا َ ِِ< ﻡ%Lَ1 ب % َ َل َرa
He prayed: "O my Lord! save me from people given to wrongdoing."
َ َلa َ َْHََء ﻡ$ِْ Jَ 08َ َ 0 ََو 22. Then when he turned his face towards (the land of) Madyan, he said:

6ِ ِ0َِ< ﺱََاء اHِ ْ3َ < أَن% َرﺏ-ََ)
"I do hope that my Lord will show me the smooth and straight Path."
س ِ 0 ا َ % ﻡCً 0 ُأﻡJِ ْ ََ) Hَ َ8 َو َ َْHَ َو َردَ ﻡَء ﻡ0 ََو 23. And when he arrived at the watering (place) in Madyan, he found there a group of men watering (their flocks),
ن ِ ُودَاBَ ِ ْ َِ ُ اﻡْ*َأ3ِ1 ﻡِ دُوHَ َ8ن َو َو َ ُ$َْ and besides them he found two women who were keeping back (their flocks).
َ ُُْ^َW ََ َل ﻡa He said: "What is the matter with you?"
*)َء% َر اHِ ْgُ -0َِ< ﺡ$َْ1 َ َََa They said: "We cannot water (our flocks) until the shepherds take back (their flocks):
٢٣
ٌ* ٌَِ آwْ َ? َ1َُوَأﺏ
and our father is a very old man."
َ َل$َ+ 6% %u ا-َ ِإ-0َ َ 0 ُM َ ُ3َ -َ$ََ+ 24. So he watered (their flocks) for them; then he turned back to the shade, and said:
٢٤
ٌ* ِ$َ+ *ٍ ْ َW ْ ِ< ﻡ 0 َ ِإV َ ْTَ 1َ< ِ َ أ%1ب ِإ % َر
"O my Lord! truly am I in (desperate) need of any good that thou dost send me!"...

اﺱِْ'ْ َء-ََ) <ِbْ َ َ َُاهHْ ِإﺡJُ َْءLَ+ 25. Afterwards one of the (damsels) came (back) to him, walking bashfully.
ََ V َ ْ َ$َْ َ* ﻡَ ﺱ8 َأ َ َTِ ْLَ ِ ك َ ُ)ْHَ <ِن َأﺏ 0 ْ ِإVََa She said: "My father invites thee that he may reward thee for having watered (our flocks) for us."
ْFَUَ َ َ َلa x َ َgَ$ْ اJِ ْ ََ) x 0 َa َوYُ َء8 0 ََ+ So when he came to him and narrated the story, he said: "Fear thou not:
َ ِ ِ0uَْ ِم ا$ْ ا َ ِت ﻡ َ َْLَ1
٢٥
(well) hast thou escaped from unjust people."
Yُ ْ*ِ8ْ;َْ اﺱV ِ ََاهُ َ َ َأﺏHْْ ِإﺡVََa 26. Said one of the (damsels): "O my (dear) father! engage him on wages:
٢٦
ُ ِي اْ;َﻡ Z ِ َ$ْت ا َ ْ*َ8ْ;َْ اﺱ ِ ََ ْ َ* ﻡW ن 0 ِإ
truly the best of men for thee to employ is the (man) who is strong and trusty"...
y ٍ َLِ< ﺡ َ ِ1َ َM <ِ1*َ ُ8ْ;َ أَن-ََ) ِ ْ ََ< ه 0 َََْى اﺏHْ ِإﺡ َ َ'ِ1ُ َأنْ أHُ ِ< ُأر%1َ َل ِإa 27. He said: "I intended to wed one of these my daughters to thee, on condition that thou serve me for eight years;
ك َ Hِ ِ) ْ ِ َ+ ْ*ًاbَ) V َ ْ َ ْنْ َأ/ِ َ+ but if thou complete ten years, it will be (grace) from thee.
َ ْ ََ) & 0 ُ? َأنْ َأHُ َِوﻡَ ُأر But I intend not to place thee under a difficulty:
٢٧
َ ِ'ِ0g ا َ ِ ﻡJُ 0ِ< إِن ?َء ا1Hُ ِLََﺱ
thou wilt find me, indeed, if Allah wills, one of the righteous."
َ َْ َ ﺏَ ِْ< َوﺏ َ َِ َل َذa 28. He said: "Be that (the agreement) between me and thee:
< 0 ََ) ن َ ْوَاHُ) ََ+ V ُ ْ َGَa ِ ْ ََ8َ;ْ َ ا0َأ whichever of the two terms I fulfil, let there be no ill-will to me.
٢٨
ٌ6 ُِ ُل َوآ$َ1 َ ﻡ-ََ) Jُ 0وَا
Be Allah a witness to what we say."

َرًا1 ِرZ^ اh ِ ِ1َ8 ِ ﻡq َ َ1 Jِ ِْ وَﺱَ َر ﺏِ;َه6َ َ8َ;ْا-َ ﻡُﺱ-َGَa 0 ََ+ 29. Now when Moses had fulfilled the term, and was travelling with his family, he perceived a fire in the direction of Mount Tur.
َرًا1 V ُ َْ1 <%1ُا ِإjُْ اﻡJِ َِْ َل ِ;َهa He said to his family: "Tarry ye; I perceive a fire;

ن َ َُ^ْgَ ُْ0َ7َ ِر0 ا َ ِْ َو ٍة ﻡBَ8 ََْ ٍ* َأوUَِ ﺏ3ْ%< ِ ُ ﻡ%َ70
I hope to bring you from there some information, or a burning firebrand, that ye may warm yourselves."
ِ َ َْ;ْ{ اَْادِي ا ِ َِ? ُِدِي ﻡ1 َ َأَه0 ََ+ 30. But when he came to the (Fire), a voice was heard from the right bank of the valley,
-ََ َ* ِة أَن َ ﻡُﺱL0b ا َ ِ ﻡCِ َ اْ َُ َرآCِ َ7ْ$ُِْ< ا+ from a tree in hallowed ground: "O Moses!
٣٠
َ ِ ََ7ْب ا Z َرJُ 0َ ا1< َأ%1ِإ
verily I am Allah, the Lord of the Worlds...
ك َ َgَ) & ِ َْوَأنْ َأ 31. "Now do thou throw thy rod!"
ْh%$َ7ُ َْْﺏِ*ًا َوHُ ﻡ-0ن َو k َ8 َ301َ;َ آTZ َْ3َ َ رَه0 ََ+ But when he saw it moving (of its own accord) as if it had been a snake, He turned back in retreat and retraced not his steps:
ْFَUَ َْ َو6ِْa َأ-ََ ﻡُﺱ "O Moses!" (it was said), "draw near, and fear not:
٣١
َ ِِ اْ|ﻡ َ ِ ﻡ َ 01ِإ
for thou art of those who are secure.
َ ْ ِ* ﺱُ ٍءd ْ َِء ﻡGْ َْ ُ*جْ ﺏUَ َ ِْ َ8 <ِ+ َكHَ َ ُْْاﺱ 32. "Move thy hand into thy bosom, and it will come forth white without stain (or harm),
h ِ ْ*ه0 ا َ ِ ﻡ َ َََﺡ8 َ ْ َوَاﺽْ ُْ ِإ and draw thy hand close to thy side (to guard) against fear.
Jِ ِ_ََن َوﻡ َ َْ)ْ*ِ+ -َ ِإ َ %رﺏ0 ِن ﻡ ِ َ1َ ﺏُ*ْه َ ِ1َاBَ+ Those are the two credentials from thy Lord to Pharaoh and his Chiefs:

َ ِ$َِﺱ+ ًَْﻡa ُا1َُْ آ301ِإ
for truly they are a people rebellious and wicked."
٣٣
ن ِ ُُْ$َ ف أَن ُ َWَ;َ+ ًْDَ1 ُْ3ِْ ﻡV ُ ََْa <%1ب ِإ % َ َل َرa
33. He said: "O my Lord! I have slain a man among them, and I fear lest they slay me.
<ُِaH% َgُ < ِردْءًا َ ِ7َ ﻡJُ َِْ;َرْﺱ+ ً1َِ <%ِ ﻡA ُ َgْ+ن هُ َ َأ ُ ِ< هَرُوWَوَأ 34. "And my brother Aaron -- he is more eloquent in speech than I: so send him with me as a helper, to confirm (and strengthen) me;
٣٤
ن ِ ُﺏB% َُ ف أَن ُ َW< َأ%1ِإ
for I fear that they may accuse me of falsehood."
َ ُْ َن ِإ َ ُِgَ ََ+ ً1َ^ُْ َُ َ ﺱ6ُ َ7ْLَ1 َو َ ِWَ;ِك ﺏ َ Hَ ُGَ) HZ ُbَََ َل ﺱa 35. He said: "We will certainly strengthen thy arm through thy brother, and invest you both with authority, so they shall not be able to touch you:
٣٥
ن َ َُِnَُْ َ ا7َ0 ا ِ َُ َ َوﻡ1َﺏِ|ََِ أ
with Our Signs shall ye triumph -- you two as well as those who follow you."
َْ*ًىDZ ﺱِ'ْ*ٌ ﻡ0َا ِإBََُا ﻡَ هa ت ٍ َ% َ ﺏِ|ََِ ﺏ-َﺱZَءهُ ﻡ8 0 ََ+ 36. When Moses came to them with Our Clear Signs, they said: "This is nothing but sorcery faked up:
٣٦
َ ِو0 َ;َِْ اEَِ< ﺏ+ َاBَ3َِْ ﺏ7ِ ََوﻡَ ﺱ
never did we hear the like among our fathers of old!"
Yِ Hِ ِ) ْ َِى ﻡHُ3َِْء ﺏ8 َ ِ< َأ)َْ ُ ﺏ% َرﺏ-ََ َل ﻡُﺱaَو 37. Moses said: "My Lord knows best who it is that comes with guidance from Him
ا ِر0H اCُ َِaَ) Jُ َ ن ُ َُ ََوﻡ and whose End will be best in the Hereafter:
٣٧
ن َ ُ ِ0u اA ُ ِْDُ َ Jُ 01ِإ
certain it is that the wrongdoers will not prosper."
َ ْ*ِيd Jٍ َ ْ ِإ% َُ ﻡV ُ ْ َِ) ََ اْ ََ;ُ ﻡ3Zن َ َأ ُ َْ)ْ*ِ+ َ َلaَو 38. Pharaoh said: "O Chiefs! no god do I know for you but myself:

ًَ*ْﺡe <% 6َ7ْ8َ+ ِ %^ ا-ََ) ن ُ َْ ِ< َ هَﻡHِaَْ;َو+ therefore, o Haman! light me a (kiln to bake bricks) out of clay, and build me a lofty palace,
-َ ﻡُﺱJِ َ ِإ-َ ِإiُ ِ0< َأ%َ70 that I may mount up to the god of Moses:
َ ِ اَْ ِذﺏ َ ِ ﻡJُ Zُpَ;َ <%1َوِإ
٣٨
but as far as I am concerned, I think (Moses) is a liar!"
& % َ'َْ ْ ِ* اnِض ﺏ ِ ِْ< اْ;َر+ Yُ ُُ ُد8وَاﺱََْْ َ* هُ َ َو 39. And he was arrogant and insolent in the land, beyond reason -- he and his hosts:
٣٩
ن َ ُ7َ8ْ*ُ َ َْ َُْ ِإ301ا َأZَpَو
they thought that they would not have to return to Us!
% َ ِْ< ا+ َُْه1ْBَََ+ Yُ ُُ َد8 َوYُ َ1ْBَWَ;َ+ 40. So We seized him and his hosts, and We flung them into the sea:
٤٠
َ ِ ِ0u اCُ َِaَ) ن َ َ آF َ ْ َُ*ْ آu1َ+
now behold what was the End of those who did wrong!
ِر0 ا-َن ِإ َ ُ)ْHَ Cً 0 ِEََْهُْ َأ7َ8َو 41. And We made them (but) leaders inviting to the Fire;
٤١
ن َ َ*ُوgُ َ Cِ َِ َﻡ$َْوَْ َم ا
and on the Day of Judgment no help shall they find.
Cً َْ7َ َ ْ1HZ اYِ Bِ َِ< ه+ َُْْه7ََْوَأ 42. In this world We made a Curse to follow them:
٤٢
َ ُِْﺡ$َ ْ ا َ % هُ ﻡCِ َِ َﻡ$َْوَْ َم ا
and on the Day of Judgment they will be among the loathed (and despised).
-َن اْ;ُو َ ُ*ُو$ْ ﻡَ َأهََْْ اHِ ْ7َب ﻡِ ﺏ َ َِْ ا-َْ َ َْ ﻡُﺱHَ$ََو 43. We did reveal to Moses the Book after We had destroyed the earlier generations,
٤٣
ن َ *ُو0آBَ ََ ُْ30َ70 Cً َ ًْى َو َرﺡHُس َوه ِ 0ِ *َ ِEَgَﺏ
(to give) Insight to men and Guidance and Mercy, that they might receive admonition.
*َ ْ اْ;َﻡ-َ ﻡُﺱ-ََ َْ ِإGَa ْ< ِإذ % َِ*ْﺏnْ اh ِ ِ1َLِ ﺏV َ َُوﻡَ آ 44. Thou wast not on the Western Side when We decreed the commission to Moses,
٤٤
َ ِHِه0b ا َ ِ ﻡV َ َُوﻡَ آ
nor wast thou a witness (of those events).

*ُ ُ ُ7ِْ ُ ا3ْ ََ) ََ^َ َو َل+ ً1ُ*ُوa َ1ْ;َb1َ أ0ََِو 45. But We raised up (new) generations, and long were the ages that passed over them;
ََِ ِْ3ْ ََ) َُْ َ َْHَ ﻡ6ِ ِْ< َأه+ ًَ ِوM V َ َُوﻡَ آ but thou wast not a dweller among the people of Madyan, rehearsing Our Signs to them;
٤٥
َ ِِ ﻡُ*ْﺱ0ُ آ0ََِو
but it is We Who send Messengers (with inspiration).
ََْ َد1 ْ ِر ِإذZ^ اh ِ ِ1َLِ ﺏV َ َُوﻡَ آ 46. Nor wast thou at the side of (the Mountain of) Tur when We called (to Moses),
َ َِْa %ِ ٍ* ﻡB01 % َأَهُ ﻡ0َْﻡً ﻡa َرBِ ُِ َ %رﺏ0 % ﻡCً َ ْرﺡ0 ََِو Yet (art thou sent) as a Mercy from thy Lord, to give warning to a people to whom no warner had come before thee:
٤٦
ن َ *ُو0آBَ ََ ُْ30َ7َ
in order that they may receive admonition.
ُُا$َ َ+ ِْ3ِHْْ َأVَﻡH0 َa َ ٌِ ﺏCَ ِgZُ ﻡ3َ ِgُ َوََْ أَن 47. If (We had) not (sent thee to the Quraish) -- in case a calamity should seize them for (the deeds) that their hands have sent forth, they might say:

َ ِِ اْ ُ!ْﻡ َ ِن ﻡ َ َُ1 َو َ َِ iَ ِ0ََ+ ًُ ِإَ َْ َرﺱV َ ََْ ََْ َأرْﺱ0َرﺏ
"Our Lord! why didst Thou not send us a messenger? We should then have followed the Signs and been amongst those who believe!"
-َ< ﻡُﺱ َ ِ ﻡَ أُو6َ ْjِ< ﻡ َ َُِا ََْ أُوa َ1Hِ ِ) ْ ِ& ﻡ Z َ'َْءهُ ُ ا8 0 ََ+ 48. But (now), when the Truth has come to them from Ourselves, they say, "Why are not (Signs) sent to him, like those which were sent to Moses?"
6ُ َْa ِ ﻡ-َ< ﻡُﺱ َ ُِ*ُوا ﺏِ َ أُوDَْ ََْأ َو Do they not then reject (the Signs) which were formerly sent to Moses?
٤٨
ن َ ِ*ُو+َ آ6~ ُِ ﺏ01َُا ِإaَهَ*َا َوuَ ن ِ َُا ﺱِ'ْ*َاa
They say: "Two kinds of sorcery, each assisting the other!" And they say: "For us, we reject all (such things)!"
Jُ ْ7ِ0ُ َ َأ3َِْى ﻡHْ هُ َ َأهJِ 0 اHِ ِ) ْ %ب ﻡ ٍ ََِِ;ُْا ﺏ+ ْ6ُa 49. Say: "Then bring ye a Book from Allah, which is a better Guide than either of them, that I may follow it!
٤٩
َ ِaَ ِدe ُُْإِن آ
(Do), if ye are truthful!"

ُْن َأهَْاءه َ ُ7ِ0َ َ 01َ)َْْ َأ+ َ َ ِ ُاLََْ ْ0 ِن/َ+ 50. But if they hearken not to thee, know that they only follow their own lusts:
Jِ 0 ا َ %ًى ﻡHَُ ْ ِ* هnِ ﺏYُ هََاiَ َ0 ا ِ 0 ِ ﻡ6Z ََوﻡَ ْ َأﺽ and who is more astray than one who follows his own lusts, devoid of guidance from Allah?
٥٠
َ ِ ِ0uَْ َم ا$ِْي اHْ3َ َ Jَ 0ن ا 0 ِإ
For Allah guides not people given to wrongdoing.
٥١
ن َ *ُو0آBَ ََ ُْ30َ7َ َْ َل$ُْ ُ ا3َ َْ0eْ َوHَ$ََو
51. Now have We caused the word to reach them themselves, in order that they may receive admonition.
٥٢
ن َ ُِ ُ!ْﻡJِ ِ هُ ﺏJِ َِْa ِب ﻡ َ َِْ َ َْهُ ُ ا َ ِB0ا
52. Those to whom We sent the Book before this -- they do believe in this (Revelation);
Jِ ِ ﺏ0ََُا ﻡa ِْ3ْ ََ) -َُْ َوِإذَا 53. And when it is recited to them, they say: "We believe therein,
َ%رﺏ0 ِ& ﻡ Z َ'ْ اJُ 01ِإ for it is the Truth from our Lord:
٥٣
َ ِ ُِْ ﻡJِ َِْa ِ ﻡ0ُ آ01ِإ
indeed we have been Muslims (bowing to Allah's Will) from before this."
ِ ْ َ*0 0ْ َ*هُ ﻡ8ن َأ َ َْْ!ُ َ ِ_َُْأو 54. Twice will they be given their reward,
Cَ َ_% 0 اCِ َََ'ِْن ﺏ َ ْ َرؤُوHَََ*ُوا َوe َ ِﺏ for that they have persevered, that they avert Evil with Good,
٥٤
ن َ ُ$ِDُ َُْْهa َر َز0 َِوﻡ
and that they spend (in charity) out of what We have given them.
Jُ َْ) ْ َ َأ)ْ َ*ﺽُاn0ُا ا7ِ ََوِإذَا ﺱ 55. And when they hear vain talk, they turn away therefrom
ُْْ ََ) ٌَُا ََ َأ)ْ ََُ َوَُْ َأ)ْ َُُْ ﺱََمaَو and say: "To us our deeds, and to you yours; peace be to you:

َ َِِهLِْ< اnََْ1 َ
we seek not the ignorant."
َءbَ َِي ﻡHْ3َ Jَ 0 ا 0 َِ َوV َ َِْْي ﻡَ ْ َأﺡHْ3َ َ َ 01ِإ 56. It is true thou wilt not be able to guide everyone whom thou lovest: but Allah guides those whom He will
٥٦
َ ِHَْ3ُ َِْوهُ َ َأ)َْ ُ ﺏ
and He knows best those who receive guidance.
َِْ ﻡِ ْ َأرْﺽF0^َUَُ1 َ َ7ََى ﻡHُ3ْ اiِ ِ001 َُا إِنaَو 57. They say: "If we were to follow the guidance with thee, we should be snatched away from our land."
ًُِْ ﺡَ َ*ﻡً ﻡ30 %َ ُ1 ََْأ َو Have We not established for them a secure Sanctuary,
01Hُ 0 ًِ ﻡaْ ?َ<ْ ٍء ِرز6% ُت آ ُ َ َ*َاM Jِ ْ َ ِإ-َْLُ to which are brought as tribute fruits of all kinds? -a provision from Ourselves?
٥٧
ن َ ُ َْ7َ َ َُْ َ*هjْ َأآ 0 ََِو
But most of them understand not.
َ3ََb ِ7َ ﺏَ^ِ َ*تْ ﻡCٍ َْ*َa َِوآَْ َأهََْْ ﻡ 58. And how many populations We destroyed, which exulted in their life (of ease and plenty)!
ً َِa 0هِْ ِإHِ ْ7َ ﺏ%ُْ َْ َُْ ﻡ3ُِ ﻡََآ َ َِْ+ Now those habitations of theirs, after them, are deserted -- all but a (miserable) few!
٥٨
َ ِM اَْا ِر ُ ْ'َ1 0َُوآ
and We are their heirs!
ََِ ِْ3ْ ََ) َُْ ًَُ َرﺱ3%ِ< ُأﻡ+ َ َ7َْ -0َُ*َى ﺡ$ْ ا َ ِْ3ُ ﻡ َ Zن َرﺏ َ ََوﻡَ آ 59. Nor was thy Lord the one to destroy a population until He had sent to its Center a Messenger, rehearsing to them Our Signs:
٥٩
ن َ ُ َِp َ3ُْ َوَأه0ُ*َى ِإ$ِِْْ< ا3ُ ﻡ0َُوﻡَ آ
nor are We going to destroy a population except when its members practice iniquity.
َ3َُِْ َ َوز1HZ ع اْ'َ َ ِة ا ُ ََ َ+ ?َ<ْ ٍء%َوﻡَ أُوِ ُ ﻡ 60. The (material) things which ye are given are but the conveniences of this life and the glitter thereof;

-َ$َْ ْ*ٌ َوَأﺏW Jِ 0 اHَ ِ) ََوﻡ but that which is with Allah is better and more enduring:
٦٠
ن َ ُِ$ْ7َ ََ+َأ
will ye not then be wise?
ًًََا ﺡHْ) َوYُ َ1ْHَ)َ َ َو+َأ 61. Are (these two) alike? -one to whom We have made a goodly promise, and who is going to reach its (fulfillment),
َ ْ1HZ ع اْ'َ َ ِة ا َ ََ ﻡYُ َْ700 آَ َ ﻡJِ ِaَ َ ُ3َ+ and one to whom we have given the good things of this life,
٦١
َ ِ*َGْ'ُ ْ ا َ ِ ﻡCِ َِ َﻡ$ْ هُ َ َْ َم ا0 ُM
but who, on the Day of Judgment, is to be among those brought up (for punishment)?
ُ ُل$َ َ+ ِْ3َِوَْ َم َُد 62. That Day Allah will call to them, and say:

ن َ ُ ُ)ْTَ ُُْ آ َ ِB0< ا َ ِEَ ?ُ َ*آ َ َْأ
"Where are my 'partners'? -- whom ye imagined (to be such)?"
َْ ُل$ِْ ُ ا3ْ ََ) & 0 َ ﺡ َ ِB0َ َل اa 63. Those against whom the charge will be proved, will say:
ََْ َd َ َْ ََْهُْ آdْ ََْ َأd َأ َ ِB0َ هَ ُ!َء ا0َرﺏ "Our Lord! these are the ones whom we led astray: we led them astray, as we were astray ourselves:
َ ْ ََ ِإ1ْ*أ0 ََ we free ourselves (from them) in Thy presence!
٦٣
ن َ ُوHُْ7َ َ10ُا ِإ1َﻡَ آ
It was not us they worshipped."
ب َ َاBَ7ُْْ َو َرَأوُا ا3َ ِ ُاLََْ ََْ+ ُْ)َْهHَ َ+ ُْ ادْ)ُا ?ُ َ*آَءآ6َ ِaَو 64. It will be said (to them): "Call upon your 'partners' (for help)": they will call upon them, but they will not listen to them; and they will see the Penalty (before them);
٦٤
ن َ ُوHَْ3َ ُا1َُْ آ301َْ َأ
(how they will wish) 'If only they had been open to guidance!'

َ ََُِْ ُ اْ ُ*ْﺱ8ُ ُل ﻡَذَا َأ$َ َ+ ِْ3َِوَْ َم َُد
٦٥
65. That Day (Allah) will call to them, and say: "What was the answer ye gave to the Messengers?"
٦٦
ن َ ُُْ َ َََء3َ+ Bٍ ِ_ََء َْﻡ1َ;ِْ ُ ا3ْ ََ) ْVَ ِ َ7َ+
66. Then the (whole) story that day will seem obscure to them (like light to the blind) and they will not be able (even) to question each other.
٦٧
َ ِ'ِْDُ ْ ا َ ِن ﻡ َ َُ أَن-ََ7َ+ ً'َِe 6َ ِ َ) َو َ َب وَﻡ َ َ َ ﻡ0َ;َﻡ+
67. But any that (in this life) had repented, believed, and worked righteousness, will have hopes to be among those who achieve salvation.
َْ ُرUََء َوbَ َ& ﻡ ُ ُْUَ َ Zَو َرﺏ 68. Thy Lord does create and choose as He pleases:
ِ َ َ* ُةUُْ ُ ا3َ ن َ َﻡَ آ no choice have they (in the matter):
٦٨
ن َ ُْ ِ*آbُ 0 َ) -ََ7َ َوJِ 0ن ا َ َ'ُْﺱ
Glory to Allah! and far is He above the partners they ascribe (to Him)!
٦٩
ن َ ُِْ7ُ َُو ُرهُْ َوﻡHُe Z ُِ ََْ ُ ﻡ7َ َZَو َرﺏ
69. And thy Lord knows all that their hearts conceal and all that they reveal.
َ ُ ه0 ِإJَ َ َ ِإJُ 0َوهُ َ ا 70. And He is Allah: there is no god but He.
ِ َ* ِةW|ْ وَا-َِ< اْ;ُو+ Hُ ْ َ'ْ اJُ َ To him be praise, at the first and at the last:
٧٠
ن َ ُ7َ8ْ*ُ Jِ ْ َ اْ'ُْ ُ َوِإJُ ََو
or Him is the Command, and to Him shall ye (all) be brought back.
Cِ َِ َﻡ$ْ َْ ِم ا-ًَا ِإHَ ﺱَ*ْﻡ6َ ْ 0 )ََ ُْ ُ اJُ 0 ا6َ َ7َ8 ْ َأ َرَأُْْ إِن6ُa 71. Say: see ye? If Allah were to make the Night perpetual over you to the Day of Judgment,
ِ َءGِ َ;ِْ ُ ﺏJِ 0َ ْ ُ* اd ٌJَﻡَ ْ ِإ what god is there other than Allah, who can give you enlightenment?

ن َ ُ7َ َْ ََ+َأ
Will ye not then hearken?
Cِ َِ َﻡ$ْ َْ ِم ا-ًَا ِإHََ َر ﺱَ*ْﻡ30 )ََ ُْ ُ اJُ 0 ا6َ َ7َ8 ْ َأ َرَأُْْ إِن6ُa 72. Say: see ye? If Allah were to make the Day perpetual over you to the Day of Judgment,
Jِ ِ+ ن َ َُُْ 6ٍ ْ َِ َ;ِْ ُ ﺏJِ 0َ ْ ُ* اd ٌJَﻡَ ْ ِإ what god is there other than Allah, who can give you a Night in which ye can rest?
٧٢
ن َ ِ*ُوgُْ ََ+َأ
Will ye not then see?
Jِ ِ+ َ َر َُُِْا30 وَا6َ ْ 0 َُ ُ ا6َ َ7َ8 Jِ َِ ْرﺡ0 َِوﻡ 73. It is out of His Mercy that He has made for you Night and Day -- that ye may rest therein,
٧٣
ن َ ُْ*ُوbَ ُْ0َ7َ َوJِ ِْGَ+ ُِا ﻡnَََِْو
and that ye may seek of His Grace -and in order that ye may be grateful.
ُ ُل$َ َ+ ِْ3َِوَْ َم َُد 74. The Day that He will call on them, He will say:
٧٤
ن َ ُ ُ)ْTَ ُُْ آ َ ِB0< ا َ ِEَ ?ُ َ*آ َ َْأ
"Where are My 'partners' whom ye imagined (to be such)?"
ًاH ِ3َ? Cٍ 0 ُأﻡ6% ُ)َْ ﻡِ آTَ َ1َو 75. And from each people shall We draw a witness,
َُْ1ََُْ هَُا ﺏُ*ْه$َ+ and We shall say: "Produce your Proof":
٧٥
ن َ َْ*ُوDَ ُا1َ آ0ُ ﻡ3َْ) 60 َ َوﺽJِ 0ِ & 0 َ'ْن ا 0 َِ ُا َأ7َ+
then shall they know that the Truth is in Allah (alone), and the (lies) which they invented will leave them in the lurch.
ِْ3ْ ََ) -َnََ+ -ََْ ِم ﻡُﺱa ِن ﻡ َ َن آ َ َرُوa ن 0 ِإ 76. Qarun was doubtless, of the people of Moses; but he acted insolently towards them:
ِة0 ُ$ْ أُوِ< اCِ َْgُ7ِْ ََُ ُء ﺏJُ َ'َِDَن ﻡ 0 اُُْ ِز ﻡَ ِإ َ ِ ﻡYُ َْ ََو such were the treasures We had bestowed on him, that their very keys would have been a burden to a body of strong men:

ْْ َ*حDَ َ Jُ َُْﻡa Jُ َ َ َلa ِْإذ Behold, his people said to him: "Exult not,
٧٦
َ َِ ِ*ﺡDْ اh Z ِ'ُ َ Jَ 0ن ا 0 ِإ
for Allah loveth not those who exult (in riches).
ِ َ* َةW|ْا َر ا0H اJُ 0ك ا َ َ َ ِ+ mِ َْوَاﺏ 77. "But seek, with the (wealth) which Allah has bestowed on thee, the Home of the Hereafter,
َ ْ1HZ ا َ ِ ﻡ َ َ ِgَ1 q َ َ ََو nor forget thy portion in this world:
َ ْ َ ِإJُ 0 ا َ ََْوَأﺡِْ آَ َ َأﺡ but do thou good, as Allah has been good to thee,
ض ِ ِْ< اْ;َر+ ََ َدDْ اmِ َْ ََو and seek not (occasions for) mischief in the land:
٧٧
َ ِHِْDُ ْ اh Z ِ'ُ َ Jَ 0ن ا 0 ِإ
for Allah loves not those who do mischief."
ِيHِ) ٍ ِْ) -ََ) Jُ ُ ِ َ أُو01َ َل ِإa 78. He said: "This has been given to me because of a certain knowledge which I have."
ن ِ ُ ُ*و$ ا َ ِ ﻡJِ َِْa ِ ﻡ َ َْْ َأهHَa Jَ 0ن ا 0 َْْ َأ7َ ََْأ َو Did he not know that Allah had destroyed, before him (whole) generations --
ً7ْ َ8 *ُ َjْ ًة َوَأآ0 ُa Jُ ِْ ﻡHZ َ?ﻡَ ْ هُ َ َأ which were superior to him in strength and greater in amount (of riches) they had collected?
٧٨
ن َ ُْ ِ*ﻡLُ ِْ ُ ا3ُِﺏ1َوَ ُْ;َ ُل )َ ُذ
But the wicked are not called (immediately) to account for their sins.
Jِ َِِِ< ز+ Jِ َِْﻡa -ََ) ج َ *َ َUَ+ 79. So he went forth among his people in the (pride of his worldly) glitter.
ن ُ َرُوa < َ ِ ﻡَ أُو6َ ْjِ ََ ﻡV َ ْ َ َ َ 1HZ ن اْ'َ َ َة ا َ ُوHِ*ُ َ ِB0َ َل اa Said those whose aim is the Life of this World: "Oh that we had the like of what Qarun has got!
٧٩
ٍ ِuَ) ~َُو ﺡBَ Jُ 01ِإ
For he is truly a lord of mighty good fortune."

َ ِْ7ْ أُوُا ا َ ِB0َ َل اaَو 80. But those who had been granted (true) knowledge said:
ً'َِe 6َ ِ َ) َو َ َ َ ْ ﻡ% ٌ*ْ َW Jِ 0ب ا ُ ََاM ََُْْو "Alas for you! the reward of Allah (in the Hereafter) is best for those who believe and work righteousness:
٨٠
ن َ ﺏِ*ُو0g ا0هَ ِإ0$َُ ََو
but this none shall attain, save those who steadfastly persevere (in good)."
ض َ ْ اْ;َرYِ َا ِرHِ َوﺏJِ َِْ ﺏDََUَ+ 81. Then We caused the earth to swallow him up and his house;
Jِ 0ن ا ِ ﻡِ دُوJُ َ1ُ*ُوgَ Cٍ َ_ِ+ ِ ﻡJُ َ ن َ ََ َ آ+ and he had not (the least little) party to help him against Allah,
٨١
َ ِ*ِgَُ ا َ ِن ﻡ َ ََوﻡَ آ
nor could he defend himself.
ن 0 َ;َْن َو َ ُُ$َ q ِ ْ ﺏِْ;َﻡJُ َ1ََْا ﻡ0َ َ َ ِB0 اA َ َْeَوَأ 82. And those who had envied his position the day before began to say on the morrow: "Ah!
ُرHِ ْ$َ َوYِ َء ﻡِ ْ )َِ ِدbَ َ ِ ق َ ْ*ز% َُُْ اJَ 0ا it is indeed Allah Who enlarges the provision or restricts it, to any of His servants He pleases!
َِ ﺏF َ ََUَ َْ ََ) Jُ 0 ا 0 0ََْ أَن ﻡ Had it not been that Allah was gracious to us, He could have caused the earth to swallow us up!
٨٢
ن َ ِ*ُو+َْ اA ُ ِْDُ َ Jُ 01َ;ََْو
Ah! those who reject Allah will assuredly never prosper."
ََدًا+ َض َو ِ ِْ< اْ;َر+ ن )ُُ\ا َ ُوHِ*ُ َ َ ِB0ِ َ3َُ7ْLَ1 ِ َ* ُةW|ْا ُر ا0H ا َ ِْ 83. That House of the Hereafter We shall give to those who intend not high-handedness or mischief on earth:
٨٣
َ ِ$0ُ ِْ Cُ َِaَ7ْوَا
and the End is (best) for the righteous.
َ3ْ%َ ْ*ٌ ﻡW Jُ ََ+ Cِ َََ'َِْء ﺏ8 َﻡ 84. If any does good, the reward to him is better than his deed;

٨٤
ن َ َُ ْ7َ ُا1َ ﻡَ آ0ت ِإ ِ َ_% 0 )َ ُِا ا َ ِB0َى اTْLُ ََ+ Cِ َ_% 0َِء ﺏ8 ََوﻡ
but if any does evil, the doers of evil are only punished (to the extent) of their deeds.
َ ٍد7َ ﻡ-َك ِإ َ دZ ن َ*َا َ ْ*ُ$ْ ا َ ْ ََ) ض َ *َ َ+ ِيB0ن ا 0 ِإ 85. Verily He Who ordained the Qur'án for thee, will bring thee back to the Place of Return.
٨٥
ٍ ِZِ< ﺽََ ٍل ﻡ+ َ َُى َوﻡَ ْ هHُ3َِْء ﺏ8 َ< َأ)َْ ُ ﻡ%رﺏ0 6ُa
Say: "My Lord knows best who it is that brings true guidance, and who is in manifest error."
َ %رﺏ0 % ﻡCً َ ْ َرﺡ0ب ِإ ُ َِْ ا َ ْ َ ِإ-َ$ُْ ُ أَن8ْ*َ V َ َُوﻡَ آ 86. And thou hadst not expected that the Book would be sent to thee except as a Mercy from thy Lord:
٨٦
َ ِ*ِ+َْ% ِ *ًا3َp 0 َ1َُ ََ+
therefore lend not thou support in any way to those who reject (Allah's Message).
َ ْ َْ ِإVَTِ 1ُ ِإذْ أHَ ْ7َ ﺏJِ 0ت ا ِ َ ْ َ) َ 01HZ ُgَ ََو 87. And let nothing keep thee back from the Signs of Allah after they have been revealed to thee:
َ % َرﺏ-َع ِإ ُ ْوَاد and invite (men) to thy Lord,
٨٧
َ ِْ ِ*آbُ ْ ا َ ِ ﻡ 0 َ1َُ ََو
and be not of the company of those who join gods with Allah.
*َ َW ً3َ ِإJِ 0 اiَ َع ﻡ ُ ْHَ ََو 88. And call not, besides Allah, on another god.
َ ُ ه0 ِإJَ ََ ِإ There is no god but He.
Jُ َ3ْ8 َو0 ?َ<ْ ٍء هٌَِ ِإ6Z ُآ Everything (that exists) will perish except His own Face.
٨٨
ن َ ُ7َ8ْ*ُ Jِ ْ َ اْ'ُْ ُ َوِإJُ َ
To Him belongs the Command, and to Him will ye (all) be brought back.
