Ladies and Gentlemen, Children of all ages...

Kathy Crosby Craft Co-Coordinator

Years in MOPS: 2 1/2 Children: Chloe-8, Nelson-5 Neighborhood: Wortham Special Interests: Event Coordinating/Planning If I had 24 hours to myself, I would… Lay on the beach of Caribbean waters and read a book. As a mom, I can’t live without… My Christian Family Organizer!! When it comes to amusement park rides… just keep me head over heels.

Kelly Ulanday will be sharing with us today about "cooties". Kelly and her husband, Dennis, just celebrated their 8th anniversary. They are the proud parents of 3 boys (Zach-7, Nick-5, and Jake-3) and welcomed a girl (Olivia-3.5 mos) this year. Kelly received her degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. She is a Registered Nurse who primarily worked with critically ill children at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the medical center and Texas Children's Hospital. She is currently staying

Where the Fun Is I don’t know about you, but sometimes I can get so busy with errands, meals, naptime, and housework that I can go an entire day without having one-on-one time with my daughter. I’ll look back on my day and wonder, did we even get out her toys? So, several months ago, I instituted, “stay-athome day.” Every Wednesday, I refuse to leave the house for any reason other than walking to the mailbox or the park. It’s amazing how much quality time we can get in while still getting the necessities taken care of!

Obviously, some of you have kids in school so you can’t throw away the car keys one day a week, but I’m sure you get what I’m saying. And some others may have the opposite struggle—you are great at spending time with the kids but might be behind in household duties. You could try a “household day” and let the kids watch an extra show so you can fold the laundry without it magically unfolding itself. I encourage us all to try one day a week to find a new balance.

Children: Jack-3 Neighborhood: Coles Crossing Special Interests: Decorating and Cooking. Past Career as a Salon District Manager My biggest surprise about motherhood was… how rewarding it truly is. Not to mention how much cleaning and laundry there is! As a mom, I couldn’t live without… coffee and Noggin in the morning! My favorite fair food is… Corny dogs.

home taking care of her family and loving it. She has been a member of CBC MOPS since the Spring of 2004. She has been a DGL and is in her 2nd year as Hospitality Co-Coordinator. Kiddie Corner I got this tip out of a parenting magazine and it really works. I take crayons to the doctor’s office and let my daughter color on the exam table paper while we wait to see the doctor. They have to change the paper after every patient anyway and she has tons of fun.

The Cooler the Better At the next MOPS meeting, on March 6th, you will be making a meal to take home. That’s right ladies, you’ll have a dinner that’s assembled and ready to cook, courtesy of MOPS. I hope that just made your day!! If you aren’t planning on going straight home from the March 6th MOPS meeting, you may want to consider bringing an ice chest to keep your meal cool until you get home.
