TOPIC “FIVE STAR HOTEL” AIM To design a Five Star Hotel at Mysore, this will facilitate to attract the foreign and location Indian guests and render the services to their highest satisfactions. OBJECTIVES
To design with emphasis on contemporary styles and create spaces for people of various categories (business, vacation and tourists).
To provide visual refreshments.
Should strive the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka especially Mysore in general.
To provide visual refreshments.
To provide the best hospitality, while promoting functional efficiency of space and circulations.
SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS
The scope of the design, the study of spacing, function, proper circulations and spaces for services are given utmost importance.
Design to suite the location and typography of the site.
Design with respect to New technology and Emerging Needs.
The design is limitless in design depth, detailing work such as service detailing, building construction detailing and interior design.
Project cost and landscaping cost.

To study various technological developments in the field, and to be incorporated in the design.

To evolve and innovative space, comprehensively the functional and spatial relationship between each functions and spaces.
JUSTIFICATION Five star hotels, the world over, are meeting-places for the rich and powerful-place which reverberate with business and politics. The hotel industry has its roots in the past in almost
over country of the world. The development in the hotel industry leads to a major breakthrough in the tourism of the country. The large and increasing flow of tourist coupled with rapidly changing social and cultural life of Indian community at large has resulted in great demands for hotels. Today India has about 59000 approved hotel rooms against the requirement of 120000 hotels. By the turn of the century, it laid emphasis on encouraging private sector investment in developing tourism. The total number of FTA (Foreign Tourist Arrival) to India reached 5.77 million in 2010.
The top ten states are 1. Business centres in India – Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh 2. Key leisure markets – Goa, Kerala, and Tamilnadu. Karnataka has 7977 hotels occupying the 7 th rank in India. Mysore is the second largest city in Karnataka at a distance of 130 Km from Bangalore. Nearly about 2,69 million tourists visited Mysore during Jan – Dec 2009, about 3.15 million during Jan-Dec 2010. The increase in percentage is 16%. SITE SELECTION A domestic tourism survey conducted by the ministry of Tourism, Government of India, indicated that Mysore is the most populated places visited. Mysore is the tourist hub and base for the entire region including destinations such as Bandhipur, Ooty, Kabini and Kodagu. Growth in sectors like IT and education in the region demand for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) facilities has increased. The Conventional facilities offered by Infosys are the major conventional facility in the region.
