Tim Writes Wayne Lorimer spoke very well on Sunday for a first attempt at preaching from a Biblical text. He is just one of a number of very good preachers we already have and are developing in the parish. Each of whom is a real blessing to us. Well done Wayne. PETER CARRELL MOVING ON In late January 2010 Peter will complete his work as Ministry Educator for the Diocese of Nelson and begin a new appointment as Director of Education for the Diocese of ChCh. WORD FOR TODAY Next quarters Word For Today devotional has arrived and is at the back of each church. The church covers the cost of these but a donation in the plate of a gold coin would be appreciated. LAURENCE EPPS ON ISLAM Laurence and Peggy Epps Directors of Reach Across have had 23 years of
working in the Sudan, Egypt and Yemen. They will speaking on Wed the 11th of Nov at 7:30pm in the Cobden church on how to respond to Islam in NZ.
BISHOPDALE THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE At our last Diocesan Synod the following motion was passed: “That this Synod encourages the whole Nelson Diocese, including diocesan committees, parishes, vestries, clergy and parishioners, to get behind and support BTC in words, prayer and finance. Financially the Board are keen to enrol a further 400 ‘FRIENDS of BTC” to help ensure its future viability. Details on how you might become a friend are on the brochure enclosed in today's newsletter. If you can’t afford the $400.00 per annum, lesser amounts are always acceptable. The

WEST COAST SAFARI Christian Women Communicating International are holding their annual safari tour again and are speaking at the Union Church, 203 Tainui St on Mon 2nd Nov at 7pm. OKARITO TRIP 5-8th NOVEMBER The annual fishing, walking, relaxing, photographic, whitebaiting trip to Okarito is fast approaching. Get in touch with Henk Stengs 768-7741 to express your interest. Part stays welcome. Very informal arrangements.

LIZ GILLER Liz is a CMS Mission Partner in Pakistan working in the area of education and support. Currently the elementary co-ordinator at the Murree Christian school for expats. Liz will be speaking at our Runanga and Cobden services on the 29th of November.
Parish itself became a "Friend" this year and is encouraging of others wanting to support this initiative.
