BTS3012 Double-Transceiver Subsystem
About This Chapter The BTS3012 uses the DTRU subrack to perform the functions of the double-transceiver subsystem. These functions include the signal modulation and demodulation, power amplification, and combination output. 4.1 Components of the BTS3012 Double-Transceiver Subsystem (for 18 TRXs) The functions of the BTS3012 double-transceiver subsystem are performed by the DTRUs, which are located in the DTRU subrack. 4.2 Functions of the BTS3012 Double-Transceiver Subsystem (for 18 TRXs) The BTS3012/BTS3012AE double-transceiver subsystem transmits RF signals, receives RF signals, and processes baseband signals.

4.2 Functions of the BTS3012 Double-Transceiver Subsystem (for 18 TRXs) The BTS3012/BTS3012AE double-transceiver subsystem transmits RF signals, receives RF signals, and processes baseband signals. The transmitting part of the RF signals performs the following operations: l
Modulating the baseband signals into RF signals, and performing up-frequency conversion, filtering, and frequency hopping
l
Amplifying and outputting the RF signals
The receiving part of the RF signals performs the following operations: l
Demodulating the RF signals into baseband signals, and performing frequency hopping
l
Dividing the received RF signals and performing receive diversity
The baseband processing part performs the following operations: l
Processes signaling, coding and decoding, interleaving and de-interleaving, modulation and demodulation, and frequency hopping of baseband signals
l
Supports voice and fax services
l
Supports Phase II data services, GPRS services, and EDGE services
l
Supports RF loop test and switchover when loop test of phase-lock fails
