Yash Vazirani Big 5 Results Analysis The Big 5 assessment was an accurate indication of my personality and attitude towards certain situations. It effectively rates my personality based on five distinct divisions. The highest possible score on each part is fifty. I scored relatively high on four out of the five categories. First of all, I generated a score of 34 for the extraversion trait, which is fairly a

verage.

Extraversion is the degree to which a person is outgoing and derives energy and excitement from people around. This is an accurate measurement of my nature since I’m not extremely energetic naturally, but my mood can change depending on a situation. For instance, at a party or a social gathering, I may be more energetic and outgoing than usual. My personality is usually adaptive of the situation and a large part of it also depends on my mood. This type of behavior works to my benefit at social gatherings by allowing me to approach new people. When I’m not feeling outgoing, this type of behavior becomes a hindrance since I tend to stay with people that I know rather than trying to meet new people. My lowest score was for the conscientiousness trait, 27 out of 50. Again, I completely agree with this measurement. Conscientiousness is the degree to which a person focuses on goals and works towards a given task. Although this does not work for my benefit in the future, I know that I complete a task given to me thoroughly and to the best of my ability. It is a hindrance because the way I approach a goal is not the most effective. I usually do not have a set plan, rather I go out and start with the most logical step and work from thereon. Most of the times, I wait until the last minute to complete a task. Certainly, this behavior is a hindrance in situations when I am given a large amount of work. My highest score was for the agreeableness trait. Agreeableness is a measurement of how well I understand people and how easily I’m able to come to agreement during times of conflict.

This trait will greatly help in the workplace as it makes working with other people easier, especially when working in a group. The only way agreeableness can be a hindrance is if I am overly compassionate and do not criticize my peers when I disagree with them. It is important to maintain a balance between being agreeable and being critical. For the most part, agreeableness is a well-liked trait as others appreciate understanding and tolerance. According to the assessment, emotional stability is also a strong trait that I possess. Emotional stability is being able to cope with and stay calm under stressful and demanding situations. Having emotional stability is helpful in maintaining composure and focusing on the goal under pressure. Being a procrastinator, emotional stability is a necessity for me in order to be successful and complete tasks in time. It will certainly help in the workplace when the work gets demanding or when the company is experiencing a tough period of time. Emotional stability provides a considerable edge in becoming a leader and taking charge in challenging situations. The only way emotional stability can be a hindrance is if one relies on it extensively. The trait to be emotionally stable does not mean that one should rely on it in all situations. Openness to experience generated a score of 35 out of 50. It suggests that I am keen on experiencing new things and exploring new ideas. I was a little surprised by this result because although I am eager to experience new things, I am not too creative in my imagination. However, I do question the norms and seek to find alternate understandings of traditional values. This trait is advantageous in the real world because it encourages learning through new experiences. Openness also brings variety to a rather routine life and makes everyday things seem more interesting. This may be a hindrance in jobs that require a structured proceeding or have strict rules to abide. There is no room for openness or variety in structured jobs.

For the most part, this assessment accurately determines the strength of my five personality traits. It measures them effectively into ratings that can be easily analyzed and categorized.
