Student is writing a letter to her mom. She wrote about what she did for the week. She did a great job recalling the assignments they did in class and she even included a summary of the book she was reading.

The student included lots of detail and really focused on her love of books. She was stuck and did not know what to include next.

Next Steps for Writer: Remember how you feel when you’re writing next week’s letter. Including emotions is something good writers do. Even though they are only supposed to reflect on their week, I said she can extend her writing to go beyond the prompt. She decided to write about things she planned to do next week.
