World history final exam
Each student will find an article from a reputable news source and send it to Ms. Roy via email by June 8. On the day of your exam, you will bring a summary of the article, which you will present to the class. The summary should be about 2 minutes in length. You will also bring at least five meaningful questions for discussion about the article, which you will use to lead the class in discussion of the event. Your discussion questions should be thoughtful and meaningful, and you might need to do additional research into the topic you chose in order to better understand the event and answer questions the class might have. Finally, you are expected to relate your article to at least one unit of study since the midterm exam and demonstrate the relationship in your summary—is it similar to an experience of people in the past; was this event caused by something we’ve studied in some way; etc?
In addition to leading the discussion of your chosen event, you are expected to contribute at least 3 times to discussion of the events provided in your class.
Your total presentation should be no more than 10 minutes, but at least five minutes.
