Why did the days length change? • It changes because of the slant of sunlight and the tilt of the Earth’s axis. The land near the equator receives more sunlight than land near the poles. Near the equator the suns rays strike that part more directly. Because the sunlight travels a shorter distance through the atmosphere, more rays reach the surface. In the polar regions, the suns rays are always slanted.
