WORKSOURCE SKAGIT CENTER USE TEAM NOTES SEPTEMBER 16, 2008 PRESENT: KATHIE HARRISON, BRIAN HUMPHREY, LORRAINE HAVEN, MADELEINE SUFFERN, MARIA PITTS 1. MEMBERSHIP FLOW DATA. Brian presented charts for all three area WorkSource offices reflecting visitor flows from 2005 to the present. Skagit’s pattern was fairly consistent with serving more new customers. Of the three offices, Whatcom seemed to vary greatly in their numbers from month to month. Brian would like to ascertain if we are doing a better job in counting people or if our numbers are due to other factors, i.e., slightly higher UI rates, seasonal changes, etc. Kathie would like to obtain data from DVR around their Dependable Strengths as to how many participants, how many have returned to work, and how these numbers interact with WMS. 2. MEMBERSHIP SYSTEMS. Brian mentioned that there is some discussion in Olympia about implementing SKIES as the new system to record numbers and services. SKIES may be working in conjunction with WMS or alone, as WMS may be phased out. 3. CUSTOMER SERVICES. What services would our clients like to see implemented? Kathie mentioned offering typing tests on a schedule which would be proctored in a controlled setting. Room 202 has been upgraded to offer tutorials. Brian would like to see partners involved in staffing such testing, but we may just find software that can be used in the resource area. Gilberto is looking at offering Microsoft classes possibly on weekends. ACTION: Kathie will check in keyboard software information from WS Everett. Brian will ask Angella to check into publicly available software. 4. ALL STAFF AGENDAS. September 22nd - Assisted Technology, Earthquake Day 9/24, Discuss next potluck ideas.
