NEVER GIVE UP
Proverbs 24: 16 THEY MAY TRIP SEVEN TIMES, BUT EACH TIME THEY WILL RISE AGAIN”
2 Corinthians 4: 8-11
(2Co 4:8) We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair.
(2Co 4:9) We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.
(2Co 4:10) Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.
(2Co 4:11) Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies.

D.R.A.W A PICTURE PAINTS A THOUSAND WORDS
WHY WE SHOULD NOT GIVE UP? We ought to have PERSISTENCE in what we do! With our lives, we DRAW a picture that shows what we believe to others.
D = Distinguishes “D”
– OUR PERSISTENCE DISTINGUISHES US FROM EASILY PERSUADED PEOPLE – EASY GOING PEOPLE OR NEUTRAL PEOPLE
R = Reinforces “R” – OUR PERSISTENCE REINFORCES THAT OUR SUFFICIENCY IS IN GOD. WHEN WE DON’T GIVE UP OUR SUFFICIENCY IS NOT IN OURSELVES BUT IN GOD
READ:
II Corinthians 3:2-5; Psalm 37:25
(2Co 3:1) Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others, epistles of commendation to you or letters of commendation from you? (2Co 3:2) You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; (2Co 3:3) clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart. (2Co 3:4) And we have such trust through Christ toward God. (2Co 3:5) Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, (2Co 3:6) who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
(Psa37:25) Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread.
A = Appropriates “A”
– OUR PERSISTENCE APPROPRIATES THE TRUTHS WE’VE LEARNED AND CLAIM TO BE EFFECTIVE

John 1:7-10 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from all sin. (1Jn 1:8) If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. (1Jn 1:9) But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. (1Jn 1:10) If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that His word has no place in our hearts.

READ: Philippians 3:12-14 (Php3:12) I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. (Php3:13) No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, (Php3:14) I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. (Php3:15) Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you. (Php3:16) But we must hold on to the progress we have already made.
