Dear Constituents, On October 14th voters in Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Anmore and Belcarra elected me to represent our community in the House of Commons, and I sincerely thank those of you who gave me your trust and support. Whether you voted for me or did not, my job will always be to serve you and to make decisions that serve the best interests of our community. On October 30th, Prime Minister Stephen Harper appointed me as Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, and I am truly humbled by, and looking forward to, the opportunity to serve in this important portfolio. Canadians have a rich and diverse cultural heritage thanks to the tremendous creative talent and contributions of dynamic communities across the country. The Department of Canadian Heritage promotes the arts and culture, official languages, multiculturalism, Aboriginal culture and heritage, Canadian history and identity, and sports (including the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games), as well as our broadcasting, sound recording, publishing, film and interactive media industries. As you can imagine, the challenges, debates and decisions ahead will be of great importance to not only my constituents, but all Canadians.

In all the decisions I make, I will never forget that first and foremost, my responsibility is to serve you. Thank you again for the privilege and honour of serving you in Parliament. Sincerely, James Moore PC MP Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages
