Widowed Care Ministry Future Plan: We recommend our ministry be a part of the nomination process to assist the deacon body in maintaining a successful ministry. Due to continual life changes in our personal and professional life, we feel the following two options need to be considered: •



Option A: 1. Connect ministry to Life Events Team 2. LET will have 3 leaders (1 for LET and 2 for WCM) – All will be elected annually 3. Core Team Leaders appointed by 3 LET leaders Option B: 1. Widowed Care Ministry added as our 4th team 2. Two directors are appointed annually during our annual process (DONT) 3. All 4 teams elect one person to core team leadership position on an annual basis

Improvements Needed: 1. Process on adding a new widow or widower a. Time sensitive – Add to tool when notified as New & Inactive b. Staff assistance - Entered by church staff assistants with notification to directors c. HUG assistance - Our ministry included in their communication 2. Document needs of all our widows a. Volunteers change each year, but we must know the needs at transition 3. Using and thanking resources annually a. Must know needs of our widows and use resources we have available 4. LET implementation of administration tool to connect to members with other life changes a. Such as divorced members and single mothers 5. Monitor staffing and ask for additional volunteers as needed a. Goal: 50% ratio (Families / Widows) - Currently short 3 families

b. Each team will have 6-10 members c. Team members will work together to care for widows d. Team leaders communication needs for assistance to leadership team
