WHERE IS THE POWER OF THE CHURCH? By Dr Pat Holliday Ph. D America has a church on every corner. How could we have fallen from being a Christian nation to a secularized nation no longer respected? A place where it has become public sport to snarl at conservative Christians as the “Christian Right” as though Christians are now second rate citizens who should have no voice in politics? It is because of President Clinton’s morality deficiency? NO! Obama’s duplicity? NO! What is happening in the Oval Office is merely a visible sign our nation’s fall from our Lord. It is a visible witness of our Churches leaving the mores of spiritual power. Wednesday night prayer meetings have become Wednesday night fellowship; Christianity has become more like Walt Disney playtime, than a crushed broken spirit for the salvation one’s family and our nation. Our Better Homes & Gardens type of Christianity is losing the battle because we are leaving the real Jesus out as the center of churches, Holy Ghost parties with insane people being thrown around the room, laughing and demonically manifesting has lost the church respect from the people in the world. And many have deserted our responsibilities to do spiritual warfare for our families, cities, states and nation. “America has become the kind of place to which civilized countries used to send missionaries,” said Dr. Bennett. William J. Bennett, Cofounder, Empower America, asks the question, “Is America becoming “ethically challenged? Sandal after scandal has rocked, but not it seems, shocked the nation. Former Education Secretary Bennett says that it is high to restore the ancient and vital concept of honor in private and public life.” Dr. Bennett goes on to warn, “America is the greatest nation in the history of the world, the richest, most powerful, most envied, and most consequential. And yet, America is the same nation that leads the industrialized world in rates of murder, violent crime, imprisonment, divorce, abortion, sexually transmitted diseases, single-parent households, teen suicide, and cocaine consumption.” 1 This author has seen God sending missionaries to our country. Mel Tarri, Author of “The Mighty Wind,” came America in the seventies with a message of, “back to the basics of the Bible because witchcraft powers were coming to America.” Throw away those perverse, powerless bibles and return to the KJV and clothe yourselves in His Word to defeat the enemy. Believers in Jesus Christ have every advantage to defeat demons. The Word says, “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you,” Luke 10:19. In addition, Jesus gives Christians power to use His name in Matthew 28:28. “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given unto me, therefore go . . .” He gave us the legal right of absolute authority. His power is, “Far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come,” Ephesians 1:21.
