One of my greatest passions in spare time, photography together with art has a place of honor. From time to time by participating in photo exhibitions and events are occasionally involves the reading and understanding of a portfolio. And I asked myself: What is a portfolio? I would be able to accomplish? In my first feeling I think that a portfolio is a synthesis of photographs that "gives the image" of my way of photographs and a summary that best describes my style, my interpretations of a subject, the key players who generally photographer, main technical and particulars/details that I use in photographic representations. Going to the internet search of "true" meaning of the term, I realized that there is no single definition. For this reason, I propose the most significant definitions for this keyword that affected my attention: a

A place of mind or space or time; A mode of expression, with its rhythm and its grammar; A core narrative episode individually and simultaneously narratable; A sequence / image sequence closely linked that communicates a fact, a feeling, creative idea;

This definition is technical and very valid: - A coherent set of images that works in making the reader's awareness of having acquired a knowledge or - A set of images designed to express a central idea, capable of communicating with logic and clarity of the idea chosen by the author and that is the meaning of the Portfolio (the "why"). The meanings can range in many directions: documentary - narrative theme or artistic - creative - conceptual. .... .... I am about to make it, beginnig with gathering the photos and then choose the more important to a certain logic or sequence. A starting point I think could be to divide by type (portraits, landscapes, details ...) and to create a homogeneous work.
