What if Righteous People Pray? By Gene Poore I hear the godless rant and rave, With false bravado, an earthen slave. “I don’t believe in God, you see, Or any other deity. I think that life is just a blunder, Since a rock I came from under. “It started with a mass explosion, Not created, nor people chosen; Solar dust with cosmic germs, Grew to apes from sea borne worms. “And when this life is done and gone, I simply die, no heaven’s dawn. So don’t corrupt my earthly life, With threats of hell’s eternal strife. “Take your God from all my views, Keep him in your church’s pews. I’ll live my life, pure and simple, Without your crass, religious pimple.” But what if righteous people pray? Without ceasing everyday? Pray for Atheists in every nation, Uplifting them with dedication. ‘Cause fervent prayers availeth much, Hardened hearts our God will touch; And then we’ll hear a different rant, A Born-again more Godly chant. “I now believe in God, you see, The Father, Son, the Trinity. Now without the earthly strife, I can live for Heaven’s life.”
