Welcome to Circle 8 Bolgia 8 When you come to this Bolgia you can expect it to be pretty hot since all the damned here are imprisoned in fire. These are the evil counselors; they abused their gifts from God and worked by hidden ways for low purposes so therefore they are stolen from sight and hidden in flames. Dante and Virgil first meet Ulysses and Diomede who are being punished together within a single flame which resembles a forked tongue. Ulysses tells Dante the story of how he made his last voyage and died when a storm sank his ship. Then Dante and Virgil meet the soul of Count Guido da Monterfeltro who is a lord of Romagna. He pleads to Dante to tell him some recent news of his war torn country. Dante tells him the tragic story of his country and in turn asks the Count to tell his story. The Count tells Dante of how Boniface VIII persuaded him to sin and how Minos sentenced him to the Eighth Circle
