Dear Nurse Leader: It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Organization of Nurse Executives of Connecticut. The Connecticut chapter is part of Region #1 of AONE which encompasses all of the New England states. Our Region 1 representative to AONE, Rob Rose, is also a Ct Chapter member. This chapter is governed by a 12 member board and has several committees on which to serve. We are very excited to have you as a member of this organization that provides for opportunities which enable growth of the nurse leader and strive to foster interesting, pertinent, timely programming. The purpose of this Chapter is to provide local opportunities for networking, learning, and coordinated advocacy on issues that influence nursing leaders and the profession in the State of Connecticut and nationally. We maintain low dues so that membership benefits are perceived as a good value. The future of health care and the delivery of quality care to the citizens of our State are paramount to the focus of our leadership. We understand as an organization that we must provide for the growth of future leaders and assure that the voice of all the direct care nurses and nurse leaders is heard clearly and consistently on issues that face our profession. Advocacy and engaging, supportive networking is encouraged and facilitated. To that end ONE-CT is part of the “CT Nursing Collaborative” which represents several of the key nursing organizations across the State. On behalf of our board and membership, I am excited to have you as a new member of our chapter and look forward to meeting you at our next member meeting. I would also encourage you to join AONE at the national level via www.aone.org. Sincerely,
Colleen Smith, MSN, RN, NEA-BC President, Organization of Nurse Executives of Connecticut (ONE-CT)
