Job Descriptions of Personnel Responsible for Integrating Technology and Instructional and Organization Leadership

The district will require electronic forms for communications to replace paper for in-house communications and business documents.



Teachers will use curriculum software programs, via Promethean Active Boards, for each core subject, after training is presented to them.

Utilize Education Service Center and all available resources and training opportunities to establish models of professional development. Add at least one Promethean Active Board to each campus each year.



• Provide training on the use of electronic tools and information to support sound, data-driven decision making. Two days of district-wide professional development will be provided in support of the district’s commitment to a standards-based, studentcentered approach to instruction, curriculum and assessment.

Provide teachers the use of diagnostic tools for formative assessments to monitor progress toward mastery of instructional objectives. Provide training for “Digging into the Data” to determine weak TEKS student expectations; develop a list of targeted academic vocabulary words for the 6 Steps aligning to each target area. Disaggregate data by ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status to identify areas of strengths and weaknesses. Provide computer assisted, acceleration instructions through Odyssey program. Students will have the opportunity to access expanded curricular and instructional opportunities via online, digital technology, and a variety of distance learning technologies. Students and their parents will read and sign an Acceptable Use policy outlining safe Internet practices. Teachers will develop and maintain classroom websites and online resources to share lessons, monitor student progress, and establish regular communication with parents and students. Provide professional development to support the use of technology applications, instructional materials, digital resources, technologybased tools, online and other distance learning technologies and assistive technology solutions. School administrators will conduct needs assessments to determine strengths and challenges that will impact planning and implementation of educational technology in schools. Principals will provide leadership in research-based data-driven decision-making for their campuses. Principals will assess teacher integration of technology with walkthroughs and PDAS. Each classroom teacher will present a technology-enriched lesson at least once each six weeks. Campuses will purchase curriculum software that targets technology strategies identified in CIT plans.

Conduct survey to review the access and quality of career and technical education programs. Offer students in CTE opportunities for end of program certification. Research the options of using CTE classes to meet the 4x4 curriculum requirements. Update CTE curriculum to meet TEKS. Members of the technology teams will establish a TEKS checklist to demonstrate how and where the technology TEKS are covered by each grade or department of core area.

Provide annual staff development for teachers in technology integration. Provide online multi-media opportunities for students. Each teacher will create his or her own class web page, update it regularly, and use it as a technology integration tool.

All teachers will plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate instruction for all students that incorporates the effective use of current technology for teaching and integrating the Technology TEKS into the curriculum every six weeks. Career Exploration using the Internet and subscription databases will be initiated. Each student will be assigned electronic and online projects in each class. Students will use a variety of media formats from a wide array of sources to develop and present electronic projects. Teachers will create online learning opportunities for students including online tests, research projects and Web quests. Teachers will implement research-based strategies to improve the academic achievement, including technology literacy, of all students. Utilize a variety of technological resources within the science and math classrooms including Promethean boards, podcasts, and graphing calculators.



Classroom teachers will utilize the school media centers in teaching information literacy and Technology Applications knowledge and skills.



Department heads and teachers will develop and coordinate a plan to integrate Technology TEKS in all core classes.

Campus Improvement Team

District will use online and distance learning for delivery of professional development to staff. Host an in-house Technology/Media Conference where local educators present their area of specialty in technology integration for each other. Provide professional development for teaching and integrating Technology Applications into the foundation and enrichment of TEKS through multiple delivery methods. Parents and community members will have access to the district’s media center via the web page. District will provide a fully equipped infrastructure and a secure LAN that gives all network users electronic learning resources including video conferencing, increased online resources and server based applications with timely access to rich media, sufficient bandwidth and storage with numerous electronic learning opportunities.



New software will be evaluated for TEKS alignment and network compatibility.



Campus plans will identify greatest technology needs from yearly STaR Chart results.

It is the principal’s job to see that all technology is integrated into the instruction and classroom. They must provide professional development to insure that teachers are implementing and using technology. It is also their responsibility to learn, use, and model technology for the teachers, students and stakeholders. They should also be familiar with the NETS-A standards and how technology will meet the needs of the students. The principal must work with all the stakeholders to provide the necessary technology for today’s students.
