Introduction Task Process Resources Evaluation Conclusion Teachers

“Beware of little expenses: a small leak will sink a great ship” Benjamin Franklin. Spending money is always fun as long as you have enough to spend. Learning how to spend the right amount of money can be a difficult thing to learn when you are growing up.

You have just won a $10,000 shopping spree! However, there are many requirements that you have to follow in order to keep the money that you won. You must follow the instructions very carefully OR ELSE YOU WILL LOSE ALL OF YOUR MONEY! Page 1 of 13

You are given certain requirements:  You must follow the directions exactly OR ELSE YOU WILL

LOSE ALL OF YOUR MONEY!  You must spend as close to 10,000 dollars as possible

without going over OR ELSE YOU WILL LOSE ALL OF YOUR MONEY!

STEPS: 1) You must donate half of your money to a charity.

a) Put the other half in your pocket for later.

b) Here are some websites with local charities that you could donate to. You are not limited to these sites. Feel free to explore and find another charity you would like to donate to.

 The Children’s Home of Cincinnati •

A children’s home in Cincinnati that provides care and guidance to children and families

 American Red Cross •

A humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

 Our Daily Bread

3) Subtract the amount you were supposed to spend from the actual amount that you spent. Then add that number to the money that you put in your pocket.

a) Now, your dollar amount is starting to get tricky because after tax your number shouldn’t be an easy number to split like 10,000 was so make sure you are double checking your calculations!

b) Split the amount of money you have left once again. Remember to put the rest in your pocket to spend later.

WITH TAX and the running total (meaning add each item together as you go so that you have an idea how close you are getting to your budget). c) Here are a few of the store’s website from the Florence Mall. 7) Finally, your shopping spree is coming to an end. Make sure to continue following the requirements so you don’t lose your money! You are now going to book a flight with the money you have left to somewhere in the world. You want to book a round trip.
