It is not only easy to install and cost effective, but also undoubtedly the best way to meet the current water crisis.

Ways of harvest rainwater:- There are two ways to harvest rainwater. 1. Conserve the rainwater under ground 2. Store the rain water

Methods of harvest rainwater:- There are 4 methods to harvest rain water.

Recharge Pit Dig 1-2m wide and 2-3m deep pit. Fill the pit with pebbles. Direct the rainwater collected at roof and other sources to this recharge pit. Make sure that water is silt free.

Gravity head recharge well The roof top rainwater is canalized to a well and it recharges due to gravity. It is suitable where land availability is limited and land pit is overlaid by impermeable soil.

Abandoned well A dry or unused well is used as a recharge structure. The recharge water is guided through a pipe to the bottom of well. Take care to clean the well before making it a recharge structure add chlorine to well water periodically to avoid contamination. It is suitable for buildings with roof area of 1000+sq. m.

Abandoned\Running hand pump A running or abandoned hand pump is used instead of a well. It is suitable for smaller buildings of roof area upto 150 sq m. Water can be used for household purposes after adding chlorine.
