Water is a gift from GOD and not for Sale One is so much astonished from the tendency of some countries and international organizations towards selling water. So many questions can be raised in this context: • Has they done any effort in evaporating water from Earth's water bodies? • Has they caused clouds to move high in the sky towards lands where it will rain? • Has they prepare surface drainage systems to transfer water to people? The answer is that no one has done any effort neither in creating water in the first place; nor in these preparations that make water a common human resource….. Thus; no one should put any restrictions on water or making any price for it. It is also well known that dry lands (e.g. the Great Sahara) cause winds to carry clouds towards equatorial areas for rain fall (So who is the owner of such water?!!). Let's think about this sayings from the Holy Qur'an: "Then tell me about the water you drink. Is it you who cause it from rain clouds to come down, or are we the causer of it to come down?" Qur'an: 56 (68-69). Think about these verses of the Holy Qur'an and look at the following figures on the estimated costs of natural water supplies: • Costs of evaporating water to form clouds: o Evaporating one Liter of water costs about ~ 10 US cents. o Evaporating one m³of water costs about ~ 100 US $. o Evaporating one km³of water costs about ~ 100 Billion US $. o Evaporating 100,000 km³of water costs about ~ 10 Quadrillion US $. (Total amount of water fall on land = 116,000 km³/year) • Costs of processes accompanying surface water supplies: o Costs of water evaporation -as above- about ~ 10 Quadrillion US $. o Costs of moving clouds high in the sky about ~ 10 Quadrillion US $. o Costs of fall down of water from the sky about ~ 10 Quadrillion US $. o Costs of the preparation of drainage about ~ 10 Quadrillion US $. o Costs of running & dissolution of salts about ~ 10 Quadrillion US $. Total costs about ~ 50 Quadrillion US $. (About 1000 times of the total annual universal income) (i.e. 8.3 Million US $ for every human being on Earth /year) • Costs of processes accompanying ground water supplies: o Costs of water preparation - ⅟10 as above- about ~ 5 Quadrillion US $. o Costs of the preparation of aquifers about ~ 10 Quadrillion US $. o Costs of water movement within aquifers about ~ 10 Quadrillion US $. Total costs about ~ 25 Quadrillion US $.

(About 500 times of the total annual universal income) Hence, this is a call for all nations and international organizations to save natural resources that are prepared by the Creator, and to work together on the optimum use of these resources (especially water). It is also a call for an international cooperation in the achievement of an equal share of water as an application of the following statement of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH): "People share equally in three resources including: water, grass and fire as an energy source". So, we do not accept that unfair request of selling water. Water is a common natural resource for all nations, and if we look again at the above listed hypothetical figures about the costs of this treasure; we will find clear answers of the questions: • Who is the owner of water? The owner is the Creator of water and of the universe. • Does any body has the right to sell water and to put a price for it? NOOOOOO.
