Topic : Waste Management Title: Beach Clean Up Date: 3 October 2009 (Saturday) Venue: Along Umt and Tok Jembal beach

Objective •To raise a public awareness about the importance in conserving our beach • Educating our young people about the effective strategy for the long term protection of our environment. • Handling waste product in a proper way to minimize pollution.

Tentative Programme Time

Activities

8.00 a.m. – 10.00 a.m.

Gathered at the beach. Start collecting rubbish along the beach, record and taking pictures on how waste product is managed along the seaside.

10.00 a.m. – 10.30 a.m.

Breakfast

10.30 a.m. – 12.00 p.m.

Gathering all the collected rubbish at one place. Discussed on how to managed the waste product. Sorting the rubbish according to type.

12.00p.m.

Lunch and dismissed.

Expected Outcome • 500 signature supporting our project on cleaning the beaches • Creating awareness among the participants about how improper waste management can destroy environment. • Some rubbish can be recycled and by collecting and selling them it could give some side income to a person. • Give some knowledge on how to manage waste product. • Informing people on how poor waste managements can disrupt the environment.
