The structure of a vlookup is: VLOOKUP(lookup_value,table_array,col_index_num,range_lookup) Meaning of components lookup_value is the value you want to lookup in the table_array Excel will lookup this value in the first column of the table_array table _array is the range in which you are looking up the lookup_value Can be one or more columns. Make sure you use absolute references "$A$1:$C$36", so the range will not move when copied col_index_num is the column from which you want to bring back a value Count begins at first column of table_array, so in the above the value "3" would bring back a value from column C range_lookup indicates lookup type use "False" for exact lookup and "true" for and approximate match Example: VLOOKUP(A3,Sheet2!$A$2:$D$73,1,FALSE)
