VIVEKA BHARATH
INDIA
I was asked by an English friend on the eve of my departure, “Swami, how do you Like now your motherland after four years’ experience of the luxurious, glorious, Powerful West? I could only answer: “India I loved before I came away. Now, the very dust of India has become holy to me, the very air is now to me holy, it is now the holy land, The place of pilgrimage, the Tirtha.
INDIA Let us all work hard, my brethren; this is no time for sleep. On our work depends the coming of the India in the future. She is there ready waiting. She is only sleeping. arise and awake, and see her seated here, on her eternal throne, rejuvenated, more glorious than she ever was – this Motherland of ours.
INDIA
The national ideals of India are Renunciation and Service. Intensify her in those channels, and the rest will take care of itself.
INDIA If there is any land on this earth that can lay claim to be the blessed Punya Bhumi, to be the land to which soul on this earth must come to account for Karma, the land to which every soul that is wending its way Godward must come to attain Its last home, the land where humanity has attained its highest towards gentleness, towards generosity, towards purity, towards calmness, above all, the land of Introspection and of spirituality – it is INDIA.
One of the objects of my going west to preach religion was to see if I could find any means of feeding the people of this country. Seeing the poor people of our country starving for food a desire comes to me to overthrow all ceremonial worship and learning, and go round from village to village collecting money from the rich by convincing them through force of Character and sadhana, and to spend the whole life in serving the poor.
INDIA
This is the land of Religion Eternal. The country has fallen, no doubt, but
will surely rise again, and that upheaval will astound the world.
The lower the hollows the billows make, the higher and with equal force
will they rise again.
We are destined by the Lord to do great things in India.
