At the crossroad between modern and traditional styles Sheer is a new type of living space, planned and designed for people who get a spark out of new things; people who have a slightly eccentric style but don’t want to give up that warm feeling you get from a house full of friends. Sheer has its own identity: it’s a kitchen that disappears. It is different from traditional kitchen units or islands and unique for its recent solutions of functional units. When not in use, it functions as a lamp creating a soft, intimate light, becoming a decoration, almost a sculpture.

All you need to do is press the button and… this decorative piece turns into a highly technological
and
multi-functional
kitchen. The upper hemisphere attaches itself to the ceiling and becomes a powerful cooking hood.

A treasure for the living room When it’s open and in use, it becomes a fully equipped and efficient “cooking machine.” When closed, it turns into a real treasure.

When not in use, Sheer is a sphere made of carbon fibre measuring 148 cm in diameter (58.3”). It reaches 270 cm (106”) in height when opened to the ceiling.

The hemisphere slides electrically on telescopic steel rails attached to the ceiling by means of a box-shaped element that holds the extracting motor. An exclusive independent magnetic system allows the cooking hood to pull out the extracting duct when it’s in use and to leave it hidden when the island is closed.

The first kitchen to be made out of carbon fibre The Sheer kitchen is made out of remarkable and feasible material: carbon fibre, Corian and steel. Carbon fibre is the result of the most advanced technology. It’s much more resistant than steel with its unique warm and dark tones. Compared to steel, carbon is light in weight, therefore easing movement. Sheer is a real treasure that will last you a lifetime. If you move house, it will be easy to bring it along with you.

The circular counter top and double sink, found in the lower hemisphere, are glacier-white and are made out of Corian® (from DuPont). Two accessories are next to the sink: a stainless steel disk rack with silverware
storage
and
a
chopping
board/drainer made out of Corian®.

The smart cooking range The smart cooking range is made out of ceramic glass and has four infrared burners regulated by an electronic unit to get the best wear out of it. It is also possible to cook with the removable natural lava stone on the fourth central burner.

Pleasures within reach The three bottle coolers maintain the right temperature, why not… A glass of champagne to accompany a tasty snack cooked on the lava stone.

Maximum functioning The island is equipped with two multifunctional trolleys that rotate around the peninsula. Two additional counter tops made out of stainless steel and Corian. The first trolley functions as a counter top and a recycling bin; the second can be used as a bin and a counter top.

Anti-bacterial and anti-odour electronic device with UV technology An anti-bacterial and anti-odour electronic device is inserted into the trolley with the recycling bin. It is a device designed for the cleaning
and
hygiene
of
enclosed spaces susceptible to high levels of odours.

A counter top with more than three meters (124”) of space. The island is a “true cooking machine,” a result of technology and precision. The big functional counter top made out of Corian allows up to four cooks to work around the island all at the same time.

Wall unit
MOBILE PARETE AUTOPORTANTE Self-supporting wall unit made out of steel and carbon fibre with a high capacity. (dimensions mt L 2.30 x 2.30 H (90.6”L x 90.6”) customised mt L 2.60 x 2.30 (102” x 90.6”) The self-supporting unit can be placed against the wall or in the middle of the room.

Other than household appliances, the unit has shelves, extractable bins, an aluminium dish rack for glasses and bottles. There are also two large drawers for pans and kitchen utensils (lower part) and two folding cupboards.

The wall unit can also be closed like the island thanks to a motorized rolling shutter that can be used as a television screen. The sides of the wall unit are equipped with household appliances according to your liking: oven, microwave, refrigerator, or another combination such as a dishwasher and coffee machine. The white LED (Light Emitting Diod) lighting system of the wall unit is composed of 28 white spotlights.
