Photography was always an ongoing interest and hobby for Graydon Peters, who received his first camera from his dad. But the hobby took a back seat throughout college and when Peters started his career as a mechanical engineer. “I was always interested in photography so several years later, I picked it back up with the digital format and found it was a great creative outlet,” Peters said. “That was the initial drive and I started to noticed when we were selling our previous home how poor the photography on the websites was and I knew I could take better photos.” In August 2007, Atascocita resident Peters quit his previous job and started to work for a national company taking photos of property for sale and putting together tours of the homes so buyers could see what the homes looked like before they ever stepped on the property. After about a year of doing real estate photography, Peters decided to branch out and start commercial property and land photography. Marlin Creek was launched to showcase his photography and offer a variety of services to businesses and the community. “I have always had the drive and desire to take pictures that will bring the place to the customer and highlight the landscape and structures. We are lucky to have parks like Mercer Arboretum and Jesse Jones Park along with the great commercial buildings around our community that make for great photography,” he said. Marlin Creek provides visual content for businesses by providing online tours of the business and photography of that

Marlin Creek’s services can be divided into two main parts commercial photography of places such as restaurants, businesses, parks, churches, hotels and subdivisions, and content packaging for online viewing. “With my commercial photography, it allows for online visitors to take a look at what a place will look like before they even go,” Peters said. “Some people are apprehensive about new places so I hope with my photography, they can see what the place will look like and what they can expect and it will ease any nervousness.” Marlin Creek offers a range of options from single or multiple images, wide angle overviews as well as macro close-ups. The company also has the capability to do panoramas, both partial and full 360-degree images. “Oftentimes, websites have descriptions of new places, but with photos - they can actually see the place and I can bring the

place to them,” Peters said. Additionally, Peters recently launched www.lake-houston.com to showcase Marlin Creek’s work and serve as a visual guide of the Lake Houston area. He is still working on the website, but it already features photography from several local parks including Jesse Jones, parts of Eagle Springs, Kings Harbor and descriptions of several local businesses. “This website helps showcase the main things we do at Marlin Creek and helps the community understand what it has to offer and the different places they can go,” the photographer said. services available to customers involve a process of tying photographs and maps together to allow the viewers to explore the location for all views. Peters is constantly exploring and compounding information and photography for new areas to bring more to the customers. “I have always been an ‘explorer’ so I am very excited to bring my services and unique ways of packaging images in an online format so they can get a larger benefit from the images,” he said. “I welcome anyone interested to check out my websites, get more information from the community and explore the area.”
