“Good times, Fine Wines” Over the last five years, he guided the growth of the winery from 2,000 to over 8,000 cases. “Herb is an important asset for our winery and his talents have produced an impressive string of medal winning wines” said Martin. “We look forward to many more in the years ahead.” Quady added that “Troon is an important part of my career. Even with all of our success, I still believe our best wines are in front of us. Improved viticultural practices along with the combination of the emergence of our Vermentino program and the maturation of our newer Zinfandel and Primitivo plantings have me truly excited for the future here.” Herb will be allowed the flexibility to devote more time to his own label: “Quady North.” Started in 2006, Quady North specializes entirely in Syrah, Viognier and Cabernet Franc, sourced from Herb’s own vineyard and several select sites in the Rogue and Applegate Valleys. Brian Gruber came to Troon in early 2009 in the role of Vineyard Manager. He will continue to oversee the 33 acre vineyard operation, as well as the day to day winery operations at Herb’s direction. “Brian has been an asset from day one. His focused efforts have made us better grape growers. He and Herb make a great team in the winery” says Martin.
