VICTORY OVER FEAR BY MAGGIE HOSKINS

This is the end of the end times before the soon return of the Lord. This is the time of fulfillment of Vision and Ministries. This is the time of God’s people walking into the last phase of ministries. Time of promotion for God’s people. Those that have been loyal to Him. A time of great favor, blessing and promotion. It’s the season and timing that We as God’s people are called to do great exploits for the Kingdom of God.

Daniel 11:32

The people who know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits. It ‘s time to come out of our Comfort zones and cross that Jordan. This is the time that God is calling his people like Jeremiah the Prophet to root out and to pull down, to destroy, and to throw down - to build and to plant. He’s asking His people. What do you see? And He is saying. “I am ready to perform my Word.” Ready comes from the Hebrew word Shaqad and it means watching, waking, hastening, anticipating, to be sleepless, alert, vigilant, on the lookout, to care for watchfully. This is the time like Esther’s when God used her to deliver His people. “We have come to the Kingdom for such a time as this.” This is also the time of Great Onslaught from the enemy (Satan) and the battle has been increased. The enemy knows his time is short, and he is trying desperately to steal, kill and destroy God’s people and God’s Plans. The Lord has shown me the #1 stronghold the enemy is using against God’s people to keep them from crossing their Jordan is the stronghold of Fear. As Rod mentions in his book, Destined to Become More than Conquerors, the first people’s group God tells Israel to destroy when they enter the Promised Land is the Hittites (Deut. 7). As Rod explains, the name Hittites comes from the Hebrew root word meaning fear. In this end of time we read in Luke 21:21-27, "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth

distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. NKJV This end of time will see, fear for safety, fear of economic collapse, fear of new incurable disease, and fear of failure, all types of fear. This scripture, Luke 21:25, is talking about unbelievers, but this should not be so with Believers. Why? Romans 8:15 tells us, “For you did not receive the Spirit of Bondage again to Fear, but you received the Spirit of Adoption by whom we cry out AAbba Father.” And also 2 Tim: 1:7 - For God has not given us a Spirit of Fear but of Power and of Love and of a Sound Mind. The Great Holy Spirit lives but in us and greater is He that is in us than He that is in the World. These three words are defined as follows: 1. Power (Dunamis) - Miraculous Power (ability - might - abundance) This is why He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above what we could even ask or think according to the Power that works in us. 2. Love (agape) God’s kind of Love. Unselfish Love. This is the Love that is shed abroad in our Hearts by the Holy Spirit. 3. Sound Mind (so-fron-is-moss) This word denotes good judgment, disciplined thought patterns, and the ability to understand and make right decisions. It included the qualities of self-control and self-discipline.

I John 4:18 tells us that - Fear has torment. Greek word for fear is phobos.

This word signifies that which causes flight, terror, dread. Will we have Fear? Yes, as long as we are on this earth. Great men of God also dealt with fear just like we have to today: Moses overcame Fear:

Ex 4:10-11

Then Moses said to the LORD, "O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue." 11 So the LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Elijah overcame fear: I Kings chapters 18 & 19

This great man of God, killed all of Baal’s prophets, called fire down from heaven was empowered by the hand of the Lord to outrun a chariot of horses, and yet when Jezebel sent a message to Elijah saying she was going to kill him - he ran for his life; sat down under a tree and prayed to die.

Prov 29:25

The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe. NKJV

Ps 118:6

The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? NKJV Abraham had fear: Genesis 12:10-20 - When there was a famine in the land and he went down to Egypt to dwell there, he had Sarai lie and say she was his sister because he became afraid that Pharaoh would kill him. But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his household with great plagues. Then in Genesis 15: 1 - The word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision saying; Do not be afraid Abram I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward. Isaac, his son had the same fear with his wife Rebekah. There was another famine in the land. God told him not to go down to Egypt, but to dwell in Gerar. And the men of the place asked about his wife Rebekah and he had her also lie and say she was his sister because he thought they would kill him. Gen.26:24 - and the Lord appeared to him (Isaac) and said, “I am the God of your Father Abraham, do not fear, I am with you. I will bless you and multiply your descendants for my servant Abraham’s sake”. David experienced fear 1 Sam 21:10-12, Then David arose and fled that day from before Saul, and went to Achish the king of Gath. 11 And the servants of Achish said to him, "Is this not David the king of the land? Did they not sing of him to one another in dances, saying: 'Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands'?" 12 Now David took these words to heart, and was very much afraid of Achish the king of Gath. NKJV David flees from Saul and Jonathan encourages him not to fear. 1 Sam 23:16-17 - Then Jonathan, Saul's son, arose and went to David in the woods and strengthened his hand in God. 17 And he said to him, "Do not fear, for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you. You shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next to you. Even my father Saul knows that." NKJV

Peter experienced fear: This mighty man of God, after he was filled with the Holy Spirit. So anointed of God that His shadow would heal people. Gal: 2:11-13 - Paul speaking about Peter when he came to Antioch: “I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed, for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew, separating himself fearing those who were of the circumcision and the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy”. Peter had fear when he denied Christ. When Jesus called him out of the boat to walk on the water; he became fearful. Matt: 14:22-33 Vs. 30 - But when He saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid. Then He began to sink. NOTE: He began to sink after he became fearful. Paul speaking to the Church of Corinth.

I Cor: 2:3 –

I was with you in much weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. 2 Cor: 7:5 – When we came to Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were troubled on every side. Outside were conflicts, inside were fears. Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus. God has called His Church to be a people of Faith; People of Great Courage - not people of fear. Fear will keep us from obtaining God’s promises for our life. Fear is the only thing that can keep us from fulfilling our God given destiny.

Heb: 11:6 says; without faith it is impossible to please him. Heb: 10:38

Now the just shall live by Faith. He says if we shrink back his Soul has no pleasure in us.

Job 3:25-26

For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. 26 I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came. KJV Fear kept the 1st. Generation of Israelites from crossing over into their Promised Land. We all know the story. After God had delivered his people out of Egypt with great signs and wonders they came to the Jordan, sent 12 spies to scout out the land - ten came back with an evil report - two came back, Joshua and Caleb, with a good

report (Numbers 13 & 14). The report by the ten spies was that they saw giants, and they said that, “we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight”. NOTE: How we see ourselves is how the enemy sees us! The result was that the people became fearful and wanted to return to Egypt, their comfort zone. The place where they sat by POTS OF MEAT DAILY AND WATER JUGS. Joshua and Caleb gave a different report to the people in Num 14:8-9, If the LORD delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, 'a land which flows with milk and honey.' 9 Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD is with us. Do not fear them." NKJV What was God’s promise to the Israelites before they were to go over into the Promised Land? Exodus 23:27 - I will send my fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you. Moses, spoke to Israel at the Jordan in the Wilderness. Deut: 1:21, “Look the Lord your God has set the land before you, go up and possess it, as the Lord God of your Fathers has spoken to you, do not fear or be discouraged.” It is very easy to become discouraged when walking by Faith and just before a great breakthrough the enemy will try to bring discouragement to get you off course. In Deut: 20: 1-4 - GOD IS GIVING INSTRUCTIONS ON WARFARE TO THE NEW GENERATION AFTER CROSSING OVER INTO THE PROMISED LAND: "When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. 2 So it shall be, when you are on the verge of battle, that the priest shall approach and speak to the people. 3 And he shall say to them, 'Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; 4 for the LORD your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.' NKJV Then the Lord speaks to Joshua after Moses died, just before he was to lead them into the New Land.

Joshua 1:5-9 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life;

as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." NKJV Hebrew word Strong is Chazaq (Kah-zahk) and it means to be established, firm, fortified. GOD PROVED HIS FAITHFULNESS OVER AND OVER WITH JOSHUA:

Joshua 10 - The story of the 5 kings of the Amorites that rallied against the City of Gibeon whom Joshua had cut Covenant with and they sent word to Joshua for help. God spoke to Joshua in Vs. 8 - Do not fear them for I have delivered them into your hand. Not a man of them shall stand before you. Vs 11 - The Lord cast down large hailstones from heaven on them and they died. There was more who died from the hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword. 12 Then Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: "Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon." 13 So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge Upon their enemies. 14 Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day. 14 And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the LORD heeded the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel. NKJV (God cause time to stand still for Joshua. What will the prayers of a righteous man do? The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16-17) When God chose Solomon to build the Temple instead of David his Father - God spoke to David in I Chron: 28:6 - It is your Son Solomon who shall build my house and my courts, for I have chosen Him to be my Son and I will be his Father. Chapter 28:20 - And David said to his son Solomon - Be strong and go good courage, AND DO IT, do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord God, My God, will

be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord. When God calls us to do something big, Sometimes we don’t know if we are coming or going - and we can feel so inadequate, but the Lord knows the beginning from the end.

I Kings 3:7 - Solomon said to the Lord, “O Lord, My God, you have made your

servant King instead of my Father David, but I am a little child, I do not know how to go out or to come in!”

Psalm 121:8 - The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth and even forevermore.

Preserve means to keep alive or in existence; to keep safe from harm or injury; to keep possession of.

I Chron: 29:1 - King David had said to all the assembly. My Son Solomon

whom alone God has chosen is young and inexperienced, and the work is great, because the Temple is not for man, but for the Lord God. Whatever the Lord God has called you to do always remember it is for the Lord God, not Man. WHAT SHOULD WE DO IN A SEVERE BATTLE WHEN FEAR HAS COME UPON US?

2 Chronicles chapter 20 - when a great multitude came to battle against Jehoshaphat and He became fearful.

1.Set yourself to seek the Lord and proclaim a Fast. Pray without ceasing and fast something. Psalm 34:4 - I sought the Lord and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears. 2. Recognize God’s Authority. There is Power and Might in His hand, and that NO ONE is able to withstand Him. Vs. 6 3. Acknowledge Him as your God. He is El Shadai - the All sufficient One. Vs. 7 4. Stand in His Presence; Cry out to Him, and He will hear and save you. Vs. 9 - In His presence is fullness of joy, at His right hand are pleasures forevermore.

5. Humble yourself before the Lord; recognize your weakness and keep your eyes upon Him - NOT THE ENEMY OR THE CIRCUMSTANCES . Remember Peter took his eyes off Jesus and looked at the storm. Vs.12 Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God and He will exalt you in due season. The great General Tommy Franks once said - There are 2 ways of looking at the enemy: “1.Try to discern what he might be saying or doing and just focus on that or 2. Prepare yourself for anything he might say or do, and you can be so prepared that you are not surprised at whatever he does.” He went on to say, “We keep focused on the plan; and what our strategy is: We have a plan so no matter what the enemy throws at us; No matter what new tactic he has, we stay focused on our plan and implement it. And we will use overwhelming force to do it!” 6. Expect a Rhema word from God. Vs. 14-15-16 7. Start Worshiping and Praising the Lord before you see the Victory. Vs. 18-22 vs. 22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir who had come against Judah and they were defeated. vs. 25 They were 3 days gathering the spoil because there was so much. End result: Vs. 27 - They went from Fear to Rejoicing. 2 Chron 20:27-28 Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, with Jehoshaphat in front of them, to go back to Jerusalem with joy, for the LORD had made them rejoice over their enemies.
