VIA Pro133A Chipset The VIA Apollo Pro133A is an efficient, cost-effective, flexible chipset solution for Socket 370 systems based on the Intel® Pentium® III, Intel® Celeron™ & VIA C3® Processors, across a full spectrum of applications. The AGP4X interface on the Pro133A chipset allows for rich 3D graphics and video performance. With its 133MHz Front Side Bus, the VIA Apollo Pro133A chipset optimizes the performance of Intel? Pentium? III, Intel? Celeron™ and VIA C3™ processors, while its highly scaleable asynchronous bus design also makes it the ideal solution to fully harness processor FSB speeds of 66 and 100MHz. Through its memory controller architecture, the VIA Apollo Pro133A chipset supports up to 2.0GB of PC133 SDRAM and VC133 DRAM. These memory technologies provide bandwidth for Internet and 3D graphics applications. The ATA 66 interface on the VIA Apollo Pro133A chipset helps boost system performance by delivering maximum sustained data transfer rates of 66MB/sec. In combination with the VIA VT82C596B or VT82C686A South Bridge Controllers, as shown in the block diagram below, the VIA Pro133A includes support for four USB ports, AC-97 link for audio and modem, hardware monitoring, and power management.
