In the next pages you will find some shoots I’ve been working on the last year. These are in the VFX compositing reel DVD section, actually unreleased and confidence material, without final color correction. I hope you enjoy it.

KM 31 state of the art openning sequence In this sequence the director wanted to show a synthesis of the most important visual elements in the movie, the water, the ghost child, the high way and the myst. I try to use this as a way to inmerse the viewer inside the KM 31 world. KM 31 general character enhancements

In this underwater original plate was necessary to add digital hair and cloth, to the original face replacement FX. The Chroma Key was very hard to obtain because the film was very under exposed. KM 31 character enhancements

For this, my team and me, work to create this ghostly look working on art references, to show a discreet underwater effect over this character, a total of 23 shoots use this look.

In this preview shoot of face replacement I show up the luma intermediate morph technique working like photoshops patch tool, to preserve original characters speculariity and shadows. KM 31 breaths ( 84 of 250 total VFX shoots ) The movie requires a fast and flexible technique to create a lot of digital breath shoots. The 3D technical director, and me design a pipeline to create 84 shoots of 3D breath using 3 shake and 1 3D artist. It was succesfull in 5 weeks. KM 31 character enhancement

This character originally was thinked to use on set make up, but finally we take a 3D solution making a full legs replacement, to obtain the desired directors look. KM 31 myst

The movie involve a lot of myst set enhancements, but this is probably one of the most hard myst shoots, because the orignal lighting never took cares about the compositing needs.

For the movie end, we create, a progressive vibrating-shout look, present in early shoots of the movie, having climax in the last closing sequence. We used optic realistic filtering to obtain the final look.

hassan ben sabbah Lattice Table of Transformation for 3D Color Correction This research in color sciense was intented to obtain a way to use an in house 3D Look up table system to correctly preview in CRT monitors the final cinema look, including color correction grading. This research results in a function seed table of logarithmic values called LATT (Lattice table of transformation), which uses an in house function to perform fast logarithmic index color transformations. Shake On Screen Control Development

This shows the actual status of development for the shake LATT pluguin. We can see the 3D color graphication as On Screen Control, showing all the transformations performed by the actual tweaking node.

Quik Share Fox Compositing Asset Manager When the study turn the discreet platform to the desktop node based compositing systems, as a technical 2D developer i created this asset manager that allow to keep in order the files, people and projects, consolidating, paths and converting each file in use by compositors in meta data , that allows artist to forget about where are the files or renders and just keep making fine art. vIsual effects artIst
