value for money in government entities The recent best practices in auditing have eventually found their way into the government entity. Auditors are making sure that on behalf of the government and the taxpayer, every coin is worth what it has been spent on. The Namibian Government has not been an exception in this interesting venture. Value for Money has become a key audit theme and systems have been put in place to that end within the government operations. For instance the 'economizing' & 'tender board committees ' have been created to meet this objective. Auditors are very instrumental in sniffing out any misuse of public funds. Mr. Joseph Iyambo is one of the CHIEF INTERNAL AUDITOR ensuring that this activity is religiously observed, more especially at this time of great slump in world economy. This is what Mr. Iyambo had to say when interviewed about his responsibilities. " I'm grateful to the Government of Namibia for having faith in my work as an auditor and I will Endeavour to ensure that value for money does not just appear to be practiced but also realized. MOTTO My motto is 'IN GOD I TRUST, EVERY BODY ELSE I AUDIT' without bias or favour shall I do my work.
