Rheingold, H. (2002) Smart Mobs, the next social revolution, Perseus:Cambridge M,A.
a fascinating look at the changes being brought about in society by the use of mobile technologies. It also takes a frightening look at the (not too distant) future! Kukulska-hulme, A. and Traxler, J. eds (2005) Mobile Learning, a handbook for educators and trainers. Routledge:London
a collection of essays which highlight various aspects of mobile learning in academia. I'm still reading this - but the essay by Jon Trinder, is a good place to start for those of you wanting to know more about the basics of mobile technologies.
