ATTORNEY GENERAL RENO TO ADDRESS
JUSTICE DEPARTMENT HATE CRIMES CONFERENCE
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 18TH AT 9:00 A.M.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Attorney General Janet Reno and Acting Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Bill Lann Lee will address a Justice Department Hate Crimes Conference on Wednesday, February 18th at 9:00 a.m. at the Willard Hotel, 1401 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Washington, D.C.
The day-long conference brings together representatives from each of the nation's 94 U.S. Attorney's offices, as well as FBI and ATF agents from around the country, to exchange information about hate crimes and efforts underway to combat them. The conference is part of the Justice Department's effort to build on the White House Hate Crimes Conference held in November of 1997.
Print and electronic media are invited to attend the opening session of the conference from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. The working sessions will be closed.
