Uplifting Skirmish
Uplifting Skirmish Reaching for my soul, I climbed the incline Towards the edge, high above indigo, Of this towering void over the sea; A limestone cliff, perpetual in flight, Chin out into the breeze, undaunted rock, Brazen in fortitude to elements. Around this crag sweep predators of wind; The peregrine, so effortless in stealth, Hunts in a squadron of screaling swifts Which dance and tumble in sweet Love’s allure. A song of life, romancing too with death, As with you by my side we catch our breath. Adam Leather 27 June 2009 Watching an aerial combat between acrobatic swifts and lightning strike peregrine one hundred and fifty metres over the Sardinian Sea at Capo Caccia.
