Letter from Panchayati Raj Department has been issued to include HIV issues in Gram Panchayat’s quarterly Meetings. A sensitization session was taken on HIV for the students of Hotel Management Institute, Jaipur on 23rd November 2007. State Mainstreaming Unit Rajasthan ,Participated in Pushkar Fair, which was organized from 20th November to 24th November 2007.One stall was placed at the fair place and IEC Material was distributed on following topics: General education material on HIV/AIDS Gender & HIV/AIDS Services available for combating HIV/AIDS from RSACS Youth & HIV/AIDS Film Show

through gamesVarious games were organized by infotainment technique to educate people about HIV/AIDS. Folk Performances was also organized by folk artists to make people aware about HIV/AIDS in their own dialect.

Advocacy Meeting with Department of Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sansthan was held with Director General of Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sansthan (IGPRS) on 11th March 2008, regarding the training of Government Employees on Mainstreaming HIV. It was urged to him to include HIV subject in their existing curriculum for PRI trainings. He was convinced with the idea and ensured to incorporate the HIV as a separate subject in the training curriculum and provide logistic support in the training of Govt. Employees.

District Scan of projected Areas has been completed
Initiatives …. A session on mainstreaming HIV was facilitated by SMU in the training of Peer educators, which was organized by CEDPA on MCH issues at Barmer. Follow-up of NGO Workshop was carried out to the NGOs, who Had attended the workshop as stated above, in terms of conducting One to one meeting with NGO representatives. World AIDS day: Organized in collaboration with FortisEscorts hospital (Joint initiative of State Mainstreaming Unit and Fortis group). Broucher on Mainstreaming HIV was released by H’nble Minister of Health & Family Welfare. Oath on Mainstreaming HIV was taken by all participants and guests as well.

Jaipur Ceramic Private Limited, a renowned ceramic manufacturing firm, launched a HIV Awareness range of its products on 16th February 2008 and committed to distribute it in corporate workshop on voluntary basis.

Trainings for Corporate Employees:

Initiatives were taken by corporates in terms of Mainstreaming HIV for conducting trainings for their employees at their campus. It was held on 12th & 13th March 2008 with Vaibhav Gems Limited. Four hundred and fifty employees of the same corporate were given the training on the same. The training was completed in Three sessions around 150 employees participated in each batch. Different subjects covered in the session were: - Basics of HIV, Role of Private sector in Mainstreaming HIV and GIPA. A representative of RNP+ was also invited to take the session on GIPA.

Training of 29 managers was held at SABMiller plant at Neemrana, Alwar on mainstreaming HIV in joint collaboration with CII and Red cross on 16th April 2008 in efforts of SMU.

State mainstreaming Unit has facilitated the implementation of Link Worker Scheme. SMU has supported in identification of field workers for mapping exercise and recruitment of DRPs.
Participation was also made by SMU in terms of the training for mapping exercise organized for DRPs, Supervisors and Field workers

Mainstreaming with Military Personnel:
An advocacy meeting was organized with key officials of military (Shoorveer Battalion) to sensitize them on Mainstreaming HIV .They have realized the importance of the issue and organized sensitization workshop for the spouses of all military personnels at their campus. To facilitate the session Mainstreaming Team was invited to have a session on HIV/AIDS. Military band participated on the twilight of world AIDS day as their contribution

Inter- college Moot Court competition on HIV/AIDS was organized by Law College, Rajasthan University on 23rd February 2008. The participants were from SMU, RNP+ and Total 32 students were from sixteen different colleges of Jaipur.

Support provided by Mainstreaming team in RRE project; Complete preparation for RRE at Gandhi Nagar Station, Jaipur Meetings with Railway officials, NYK, PSI etc were held at State level
State Council on AIDS at Rajasthan has been formed.
Session of approximately 70 counselors and 40 ICTC In charges on “How Mainstreaming HIV concept can be taken forward through ICTC centres” was also taken by Mainstreaming Unit on respectively 11th & 15th March, 2008.

TOT for govt. Employees of key department will be organized on 26th April 2008. letters have been dispatched in this regard. After efforts of SMU ,initiatives is taking by Jindal industries and going to organise trainings for Barmer Govt. employees at their own cost.
