Dear Eller College Admissions Committee: Ever since I transferred to the University of Arizona, I have eagerly worked towards applying to the Eller College of Management’s Accounting Program. My interest in Accounting originates from my interest in puzzles. To me, Accounting acts just like a puzzle, in which there are many different puzzle pieces, but they all fit together to show the bigger picture. In the future, I would like to be a financial controller or CFO of a corporation in hopes that I can help paint the bigger picture. Over a year ago, I completed my Associates in Arts degree, during which I experienced many hardships. After a shaky first semester, I realized that I needed to put forth more effort and dedication to succeed. In particular, I experienced a difficulty spike in my classes which I was not ready for. For example, in Macro-Biology I had difficulties identifying different species of worms, so I printed out flash cards showing different characteristics of each kind of worm and studied them for two weeks. Because of this, I was able to ace the exam. This taught me the work ethic and perseverance required to succeed in learning the language of Accounting. I am a hardworking, highly motivated individual who desires to become successful in my field. I bring strong work ethics and critical thinking skills that will benefit the Eller College of Management. I know that with my work-ethic I will be successful in my future accounting internships and jobs, where I will acquire the skills needed to climb the corporate ladder. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Troy Dennis
