2. Supporter Tutorial Welcome, supporter! Here you will find anything you will need to handle your problems! The Supporters’ job Supporters are either normal players on a game world or have an account which only exist to answer your questions. They are glad to help you with all your problems concerning Travian. If you don’t know what you need to be able to conquer a village: the Supporter can explain it to you. You can reach them by writing an IGM to “Support” (without ” ” of course). In the majority of cases the answer of your problem will reach you within a few hours. On each server there are two to four Supporters which try to answer your questions as fast as possible. Of course, the most important job of a Supporter is to answer questions of players! But, next to that a Supporter has to be polite, show respect to even the dumbest questions, or forward messages to the right person if they can’t do anything with it (think about: multi’s that has to be banned, bugs to be fixed, you name it…). You will find it all here!

2.1 Support Account If you start as Supporter on a server you have either to create a new account or to use an existing player account for receiving questions from players. The system functions like a forwarder. Players will write an IGM to the recipient “Support” (which does NOT exist as player account) and the system forwards the IGMs to the accounts which are signed in as Supporter. If nothing got changed (f.e. no new Supporter got signed in, or an old one quitted) the IGMs of a specific player will always reach the same Supporter. Support messages are marked with a green checkbox:

It is important that you use the archive for all answered support IGMs. IF a player complains about something which was done by a supporter we can check it easily then… So IF you don’t have Plus (which you need for using the archive) or it is running out: message flying_fortress or Tschena. You will get some then. To move a message to the archive you first have to check the box in front of the message and afterwards you have to click on the button “Archive”:

2.2 Being Polite Being polite One of the most important things of answering a question (next to giving the right answer) is being polite. For example, there are 2 ways to answer the question “What do I need to build a barrack?”. Wrong way: You need main building level 3 and rally point level 1. This way you do give the good answer, but not very polite.

Good way: Dear Tschena, You can build barracks if you have a main building level 3 and a rally point level 1. What you can do (aditional) is adding a link to the FAQ page about the barracks to the post. Also, NEVER send just a link…

2.3 Forward Messages As support member you don’t have all rights on your account added. You can’t delete or punish players, and you can’t fix bugs neither. Multi Sometimes people just write messages to Support when they found a possible multi. Because you can’t handle those guys\girls yourself, you should forward it to a multihunter on your server. Just simply push “answer” and change the recipient to “multihunter” or “multihunter2-5″. This depends on how much multihunters on your server are. You can check this by looking in the statistics. Bug Most of people also send bug reports to Support. As you can’t see/edit the code, you will have to forward this to a GA (Game Admin), who will be able to take a look at it. In case of .com servers, that are Tschena or flying_fortress. In case you are not on IRC to contact one of them right away, you can also ask the player to contact [email protected] - please tell them that they shall insert all necessary information in the EMail. Complaints If players wanna make a complaint about one of the admins or the unfair punishment of a multihunter, they should mail to [email protected]. For more info check out Who helps you?

2.4 Standard Questions Here you will find standard (stupid) questions, which are often asked by players. The meaning of this, is that you can copy the message you need, so you don’t have to type it again and again and again… It is important that you don’t just copy a message that gives a little bit of the answer, but you copy the message that fits the question perfectly. To make this easy, the questions will be placed above the messages. A .doc file is also available. Ask Happiej To send it to you. This file contains a few more answers, but don’t have the questions placed above, what you easily can do yourself too. Where do I find the rally point? A rally point can be built on the reverse shaped C, just right of your village center. You don’t need any other building to build the rally point. Regards, Travian support monkey7

How can I attack people? If you want to attack a village, go to the map and select a good target. ‘Good target’ means in the beginning quite small, so the target hasn’t got armies. How can I delete my account? To delete your account: - Go to player profile (In the left menu) - Go to Account. - Fill in the password box and click the tick. If you delete your account because you’re farmed, I hope you have more luck on another server. Regards, Travian support monkey7

What is the difference between normal attack and raid? In normal attack, the attackers and the defenders fight until one of the sides is dead. In this mode, catapults can shoot, rams can batter and traps can be destroyed. Also, the village can be conquered by Senators/Chiefs/Chieftains. In raid, the attackers run in, get resources and run out. The defenders will probably kill some of the attackers, and attackers kill some defenders standing in their way. In both modes, returning attackers will take as much resources as possible. Regards, Travian support monkey7
