1.) Edward Jenner’s discovery was the vaccine for smallpox 2.) In the renaissance time doctors started to question Galen’s ideas and then they made new discoveries, and these new discoveries helped Jenner to make his discoveries. At that time the printing press was also invented and because of this Jenner was able to spread his ideas around the world. 3.)
Jenner’s discovery of the vaccination ad made a big difference to the death rates of smallpox. The death rate started to fall when having the vaccination became compulsory and it was strictly enforced.
4.) I think that communications contributed to beating smallpox because it helped to spread the word. 5.) Vaccinations had not been compulsory at first because it was new a not everyone was sure if it was.
