Assessment objective Locate, on a map, the world’s main geographical features What materials do I need to complete this task? You will need 4 copies of the world map and a world atlas. You will also need a ruler, a pen, a pencil and coloured pencils or felt tips. What do I have to do? Mark the following locations on your maps. Take care over spelling and presentation. Use colour on your maps. Make sure each map has title. Underline it carefully using a ruler. Remember: place names begin with a CAPITAL LETTER! Don’t forget to put your name neatly on the back of each map you create. Map 1
Continents North America; South America; Europe; Africa; Asia; Australasia/Oceania. Colour each continent a different colour. Don’t forget to label each continent.

Oceans and Seas Atlantic Ocean; Pacific Ocean; Indian Ocean; Southern Ocean; Baltic Sea; Black Sea; Caribbean Sea; Mediterranean Sea; Red Sea.
Map 3
Mountain Ranges Alps; Andes; Appalachians; Atlas; Himalayas; Pyrenees; Rockies.

Hemispheres Northern Hemisphere; Southern Hemisphere; Equator.
When you have completed your maps, you will work in a group of 3-4 to design a game to help Travel and Tourism employees learn the key world locations.
