www.trmnet.com
State and local government managers have the complex job of delivering a multitude of services to a public that is demanding increasing levels of service and accountability. Fulfilling this mission hinges on the ability to flawlessly manage an array of highly dissimilar assets and services. From roads to airports; from the police force to the school system; from water and wastewater management to parks and recreation facilities; from issuing permits to providing citizen services – the portfolio of physical, technology and human assets under the care of even a small jurisdiction becomes overwhelming. To add to the pressure, state and local government managers must also deal with: • Aging infrastructures • Higher service expectations • Stringent regulations › Increased financial accountability (GASB 34) › Environmental, health and safety • Population growth / decline • Budget limitations • Aging workforce • Energy conservation
Tailored and Expandable to Meet Your Needs Implementing effective solutions for asset and service management can have dramatic effects on a jurisdiction’s bottom-line. The performance of a local economy – even the quality of life in a community – can be improved. An integrated asset and service management strategy and technology solution lets public sector managers effectively manage their asset portfolios and lifecycles to deliver better and better services. How? Through information transparency, end-to-end asset and service visibility, better decision-support tools, and hence the ability to make better investments based on superior planning frameworks. Hawaii Department of Education
The responsibility of school facility repairs and maintenance throughout the state was transferred from the State of Hawaii Department of Accounting and General Services to the Department of Education (DOE), which needed an automated system to manage this. TRM was asked to assess the DOE’s business needs and technology options for managing maintenance and repair work orders at schools located throughout the state of Hawaii. After a thorough review and needs analysis, DOE accepted TRM’s recommendation to implement Maximo. TRM then planned, implemented and deployed the system, tailoring Maximo to fit the school system’s business needs. TRM also provided training to response center personnel and maintenance supervisors and worked with DOE staff to refine their business processes to meet performance metrics and to measure improvements.
