TRAINING PROPOSAL

TITLE English Language Proficiency for In-Service Teachers and Classroom Teachers: A Module on Strengthening English language Communication

BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE Today, English is the official language of over 80 countries and the lingua franca for communication between many people of different origins. It goes without saying that learning to speak and write good English continues to be a prime focus as schools endeavor to prepare students for the demands of a globalized economy. This training focuses on the In-service teachers to prepare them for an English Proficiency Test in applying a position in the Department of Education and classroom teachers for improving their English Language communication.
III.
OBJECTIVES Terminal objective Improve the English Language Communication Skills of In-Service And Classroom Teachers Enabling objectives: 1. Assess the English language strengths and weaknesses of participants 2. Improve participants’ pronunciation, rhythm and intonation in English 3. Build confidence, fluency and speaking competence by learning the vocabulary and grammatical forms needed in everyday social communication and in an academic environment. 4. Reinforce the basics of written English and practice writing through variety of tasks.

SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES Planning: This training was conceptualized on December, 2018 Implementation: This training will be held at Paniqui South Central Elementary School in April 8-12, 2019 Evaluation: This training will be monitored by a Monitoring and Evaluation Committee of the Schools Division of Tarlac Province throughout the 5-day seminar workshop.
