Training Plan and Strategy 1

Introduction

Company and its senior management are committed to ensuring that all members of staff are fully trained in the skills required for them to carry out their normal duties. As a consequence of this, Company encourages all of its staff members to undergo a Training Needs Analysis (TNA - Appendix A). Once the TNA has been completed, if certain skills are lacking a Training Plan & Strategy (Appendix A) will be undertaken.

Purpose

The purpose of this procedure is to ensure that all staff member’s are aware that certain skills will be required of them to carry out their normal duties and that if they do not have those skills, then Company will undertake a Training Plan & Strategy to ascertain whether internal or external training is required or not.

Scope

The following procedure principally applies to all Company members of staff and: A. New employees, upon their induction into the company. B. Any member of staff that intends to change his/her position within the company.

Definitions

"TNA":

Training Needs Analysis. An analysis of a member of staff, the skills they currently have and the ones they need as required by the ‘Job Description’.

“Job Description”:

A document which outlines the duties and skills required to carry out the job in question.

Actions

Company recognises its moral and legal responsibilities to provide training for its employees especially when it comes to workplace occupational safety & health. All members of staff will undergo relevant training in regards to the skills required as outlined in their Job Description.

Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of all members of staff, the employee, Company and its senior management to ascertain whether certain skills are required for each position within the company. The skills required for each position will be stated in the Job Description document for each member of staff.

Introduction

The Training Plan and Strategy is designed to help you organise and manage your training and forms part of your Personal Development.

2.2

Training Plan

The Training Plan and Strategy will cover all training whilst being employed at Company. It will provide: A. A record of all your training undertaken and certificates of attainment/attendance. This will form part of your formal review and progression is dependant on satisfactory completion of training. B. A structured framework in which your progress can be discussed, planned and recorded at regular supervision meetings between you and your supervisor(s).
