Jonathan Perez Mr. Hamilton

The article is called 10 Of The Best Music Schools In The US (2018 Edition) by Bill Zuckerman.

The first couple of paragraphs the narrator talks about how he has worked in many music schools and something that is true about them is there's always change happening. In the article it states that,“it can be more difficult than ever for those on the outside to accurately discern what schools are good – and which ones are less so – with all the change that occurs inside an institution from year to year”. The narrator bring up the first college which is University of Southern California Thornton School of Music (Los Angeles, CA) he gives his honest opinion. “USC is quickly rising as one of the top 5 music schools in the US, as it exemplifies a diversity of major interests that many schools are not daring enough to embrace”. After that he brings up another musica school which is Vanderbilt University Blair School of Music (Nashville, TN). Vanderbilt Blair School of Music is something of an anomaly in the world of music schools. After giving his advice on Vanderbilt’s Blair School of Music he goes on to talk about Juilliard School (New York, NY). “Everything associated with prestige, high-ranking, well-endowed, incredibly selective is embodied in this historic musical institution”. After that he goes on and talks about Lawrence University Conservatory of Music (Appleton, WI), Florida State University School of Music (Tallahassee, FL),Cleveland Institute of Music (Cleveland, OH), and University of Missouri at Kansas City (Kansas City, MO). Than he finally gets to the top two one of them is University of North Texas College of Music (Denton, TX). “Long considered one of the foremost jazz institutions, the University of North Texas is usually credited as having the oldest jazz performance program at any US college”.Now final

the best one in Bills opinion is University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (Ann Arbor, MI). “No wonder it is becoming increasingly difficult to gain admission into this school; the combination of funding, reputation, and artistic excellence have made this school among the most competitive and desirable for admission”.
