Meaning and Use join two or more elements of equal rank: • The telescope and its lens were repaired (nouns) • We called and called, but no one answered (verbs) • He can work quickly or efficiently (adverbs) conveys a reason between a principal clause and a dependent clause: • •

I arrived late because I missed the train. (perché) Because I missed the train, I arrived late. (Poiché...)
