THEME: Investigating the past LENGTH OF LESSON: 2 – 3 periods UNIT: SUB-TOPICS: Division and Periods of History Pre-historic and Historic Times Aims: 1. To train students to be able to categorize the divisions and periods of history 2. To develop students’ creativity in processing information obtained from Internet OBJECTIVES: The students should be able to: 1. Differentiate the divisions and periods of history 2. Indentify tools and weapons used during each periods 3. Access relevant information through the internet 4. Compare and contrast between Pre – Historic and Historic times 5. Build up students’ confidence as well as communicative skills PROCEDURE: INDUCTION 1. Review previous lesson “Centuries” and “Times Lines” 2. Relate to divisions and periods of history DEVELOPMENT 1. Explain with the help of Time Line on the whiteboard 2. Divide the Time Line into millennium 3. Introduce Pre-Historic and Historic followed by definition 4. Divide each division of times into periods of history

White board Textbook Internet Pictures of tools, weapons and lifestyle of Pre-historic times and historic times 5. Notes

CONCLUSION 1. Students are required to stick the pictures provided according to the periods of history ASSESSMENT: 1. To do graphic organizer on the divisions and periods of history 2. Listing or classifying of tools and weapons used during Pre-Historic periods 3. Group Work of 6 groups   

Students are required to collect information from different resources on specific task given Information collected are to be edited Completed group work are to be presented to the whole class by each group
