3.Roller type Valve lifter/tappet Mechanical or hydraulic lifter Out performs flat Has a wheel that spins Reduces friction Higher rpm Reusable Higher spring loads Less wear Consistent today’s oil
Problems with lifters Hydraulic A. valvetrain will rattle loudly on startup B.pump up
Mechanical A. Needs adjusting too much
