The “Ten Commandments” for Parents: 1. Wife, submit to your husband. Husband, love your wife. Eph. 5:22, 25- “Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord... Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”

2. Train your children to behave. Prov. 22:6- “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Prov. 23:24- “The father of a righteous man has great joy; he who has a wise son delights in him.”

3. Spend lots of time with your children. Prov. 13:20- “He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.”

4. Interpret life for your children. Deut. 6:20- “In the future, when your son asks you, "What is the meaning of the stipulations, decrees and laws the LORD our God has commanded you?"

5. Be fun, have fun, and make life a positive faith filled experience. Prov. 15:15- “All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.”

6. Hug and wrestle with your children. Eccl. 3:5-“…a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain…”

7. Do not spoil your children with material things. Luke 12:15- “Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."

8. Select your children’s friends at an early age. Prov. 28:7-“He who keeps the law is a discerning son, but a companion of gluttons disgraces his father.”

9. Pray with and for your children often. James 5:16- “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”

10. Teach your children to fear and love the Lord and lead them to Jesus. Eph. 6:4- “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”
