THE LYMPHATIC SYSTEM FORMATION AND COMPOSITION OF INTERSTITIAL FLUID
Interstitial Fluid • Fluid that surrounds the body cell • Seeps out of from the blood through the walls of capillaries (mainly at their highpressure ends, after they have branched from arterioles) • Through this fluid the exchange of materials between blood capillaries and cell occurs (Example : ?) • Later the fluid will re-enter the capillaries at the venous end (How?)
Interstitial Fluid(2) • 85% of the fluid that leaves the blood at the arterial end re-enters at the venous end. • This must be done to maintain the normal blood volume • What happens to the other 15% that still remains?
