The Scholarship Program
The Ruhr-University Bochum offers a Scholarship Program to support talented students from Vietnam financed by the Ministry of Science and Research of North RhineWestphalia, Germany. 15 Graduates from Vietnam are invited to complete a Master of Science Degree at the Ruhr-University in natural or engineering sciences. The Master Degree can be obtained after 24 months. The Ruhr-University aims to qualify these students to take on a PhD-Degree either in Germany or Vietnam. Scholarship Holders will be granted 850 Euro monthly to cover their expenses. Additional costs for travel will partially be paid (500 Euro for travel at beginning and end of studies plus single payment of 1000 Euro for visiting Vietnam during studies). The scholarship can be paid up to 27 months. Costs for Health Insurance in Germany will also be funded.
How to Apply
Applicants must have completed at least a 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Sciences or Engineering (Cu nhan khoa hoc hoac ky thuat). Grades should belong to the upper third. For the Programs Environmental Engineering and Plasma Science knowledge in German is required. Candidates must have passed the TestDaF (or equivalent). For the Program Computational Engineering English (TOEFL or IELTS) is mandatory. Scholarship Holders will be provided additional German Classes including training in language, civics and academic work. Language classes start about six weeks prior to course start, so arrival in Germany early in August is recommended. Applicants are required to complete the online application form offered by each Master Program (web-address see below). In addition, full application papers will be requested.
